Whole lotta Lee Evans over-rating goin on.He doesn't work the intermediate routes well enough to be considered elite IMO. He's a perfect #2 but will never be a go to guy due to the weaknesses in his game.Oh, and i love Evans going back to his college days, but he hasn't developed into a complete WR.
It's true that his intermediaries are a glaring weakness, but Smiff has demonstrated that a WR can be dominant in a game plan of nothing but screens and bombs.
Actually if you look in last year's Pro Football Prospectus he matched up pretty well percentage wise in intermediate passes caught with Fitzy and Marvin (that was for the 06 season). The stats for that year showed he did not catch many short range passes but he is not a one trick pony.

From what I've seen of him when he played the Colts in 2006 - he looked like a top player in this league - he just needs some help from the QB/offense.

Santana Moss [ 96 ] [48.98%]

Marvin Harrison [ 100 ] [51.02%]

I guess my initial post was spot on. 200+ votes and there is still a clear split between those that view him as elite and those that see him as a nice complimentary #2. Mr. Evans has a lot to prove this season

I would agree with that. If the team improves around him and his production (from the 2007 season) does not change then we will have our answer.

I don't know, I watch him a lot because I'm in love with him as a player, and I never really see him working the middle of the field like a guy like Terrell Owens or Marvin Harrison. He's definitely at his best when he's either getting behind the defense, making the entire defense to overreact to the threat of him getting behind the defense, or simply getting the ball in his hands and seeing what happens. Just my opinion.I guess that those mid-range outs and curls and such still count as "intermediaries", but generally when I'm thinking of intermediaries I'm thinking more between the hashes, and Evans isn't that much of a between-the-hashes kind of guy.
