Legitimate concern about Michael Crabtree (1 Viewer)

I don't want to panic anyone after a single game, but there are some early warning signs flashing in Crabtree's direction.

1/ Crabtree was called out by his coach on the first day of the season - http://www.sfgate.com/cgi-bin/article.cgi?.../SPJ31FCT7T.DTL

2/ Seems uninterested in playing NFL football - If anyone saw the game yesterday it looked as if Crabtree had no interest in being there. At least one of Smith's int's was clearly on Crabtree because he ran a really poor route. Also, he didn't really seem interested in bringing down the man who intercepted the ball.

3/ Crabtree is quickly gaining the reputation of being a head case - Vernon Davis had to try and put him in his place during a pre-season brawl.

4/ Has Alex Smith as his qb in an offense that seems to want to have an offense that runs at least as much as they pass.

How many times have we seen guys with all the talent in the world not working out because they are wack jobs? I'm not loving what I'm seeing from Crabtree from pre-season to week 1. Hopefully he turns it around starting in week 2.

Crabtree didn't play much in the preseason. Hopefully he rededicates himself and has a strong performance next week. I'm not giving up on him yet, but he may end up being a spot starter.

The sad thing is that the guy has the talent to be a superstar, but he seems to be lacking something upstairs. I wish I had that much natural talent at anything.

I do have that much natural talent at something...squirrel hunting. Unfortunately, there's not a lot of money in it. But at least it does help with the ladies...

Too early in the season to lose faith. Crabtree is too talented to flame out this early.
