This is pretty much the same situation I'm in. I had thought "Warner will certainly last 4 weeks..." So I have the Pittsburgh and AZ QBs. Obviously I'll be starting him. I suppose I could work a trade, but don't really see the point, and QBs are expensive.I have Leinart and must start him due to BYE weeks. My only other choice is to trade or hope that I get Huard from the WW.If I do get Huard it will be a tough choice because KC is coming off a BYE and playing SF at home. Arizona is at Altanta and after the loss the Falcons are going to be angry and they'll likely have Abrams back. On the other hand they are playing a short week.Tough call...
Denny Green is a POS.
Leinert had been saying the same thing since the rumors started flying yesterday.Dan Patrick show had Mortenson on and he is saying that Warner will now start this week.
Bet Denny never intended to change and Mort reported a RUMOR. Can we start relying on PFT for actual news and ESPN for made up crap?Bet Green forgot who they are playing in week 4...you don't throw a rookiee in the fire...![]()
This is a sad turn of events for ESPN and Mort has lost credibility with me. I know some will say his credibility was already long gone, and I agree things have been deteriorating at ESPN for awhile, but this seemed like the height of fake news from the minute he reported it. It's been described by others, and if you didn't see it, it went like this."Denny Green says he's undecided about his starters this week. But we're going to go ahead and call it. Matt Leinart will start at QB this week for the Cardinals." That may not be the exact quote, but it's close enough. Importantly was the knowing pause between fact and fiction from Mort. It was as if he knew darn well he was making up the news, and he also didn't seem excited to do it. I would guess he had been instructed to do it. Which truly sucks. If he did it on his own, just to try and scoop a possible story with a wild guess, well that's pretty rotten reporting. If he did it as a subordinate taking orders, then shame on him for being gutless and having zero journalistic integrity. Making matters worse is the whole network seemed to be laying in the weeds with this breaking story. It was mentioned during the game. It was treated as fact at halftime by other reporters and then yet again by others late night doing an NFL show. It really sucked that they tried to pull this off and I wonder if they believed they could drive the news. Very very stupid if so.Bet Denny never intended to change and Mort reported a RUMOR. ESPN story. Pretty funny. SOunds like Denny never changed his mind at all. Warner was the starter last week and he's the starter this week. ESPN is making it seem as if the rumor they reported was fact and that the Denny later changed his mind. The fact of the matter is that Warner was never benched and Leinert was never named the starter. Minds weren't "changed".Cards change mind, to stick with Warner as QB
