With the news that Leinart will start, how many of you have him in your lineup this week?

If so, is it a bye week or injury start, or do you expect him to perform at a high level?

Projections?

I have him in a couple leagues because I went with the Warner/Leinart draft strategy or I picked him up when the news came out. He's got the weapons and he had good results in preseason (granted its preseason). I'm planning on sitting him for the first game or so and see how he does since he's got some tough matchups anyway. If you're really hurting at QB he may be worth a shot though.

Not this week, my other QB has a great matchup. Will give him a few weeks to get his feet wet and watch his progression, but I will almost certainly be starting him alot down the line.

I have Leinart and must start him due to BYE weeks. My only other choice is to trade or hope that I get Huard from the WW.

If I do get Huard it will be a tough choice because KC is coming off a BYE and playing SF at home. Arizona is at Altanta and after the loss the Falcons are going to be angry and they'll likely have Abrams back. On the other hand they are playing a short week.

Tough call...

Like others have said I will not start him - yet. If he produces in this game (1-2 TDs, 250 yards) my decision will be harder next week.

This is pretty much the same situation I'm in. I had thought "Warner will certainly last 4 weeks..." So I have the Pittsburgh and AZ QBs. Obviously I'll be starting him. I suppose I could work a trade, but don't really see the point, and QBs are expensive.

Dynasty:

I've got McNabb :banned: , Matt :headbang: , and Bulger

McNabb is my man, but under different circumstances I'd start him with no worries.

I'm both a Warner and Leinart owner, and I have no qualms about Warner's benching.

That said, I'm benching Leinart in two of my league for Favre and Culpepper but starting him over Grossman in my other.

I wish I could remember where I read it, but I think I recall a lot of QBs have success in their first start, maybe even the second, just because the other team doesn't have as much film to watch on him. After a few weeks, though, they start to regress as defenses figure out their tendencies. Kelly Holcomb syndrome.

Should I start Leinert if the Cardinals are starting Warner? Inquiring minds want to know.

(I had a feeling all along ESPN's certainty about this situation yesterday was a bit premature, given Denny's insistence that personnel decisions are made on Tuesdays--not Mondays. Mort was good in reporting the team sources "believed" Leinert would get the start, but an hour later, ESPN was reporting it as fact. Poor journalism on ESPN's part.)

Warner is going to be starting, but I'm starting Leinart because I've decided to be a part of the Adrian Peterson sweepstakes. I'll just act like I didn't hear the news.

Warner will likely suck this week in Atlanta and Leinart will be starting when they head back home Week 5 vs. Kansas City. The fact they are heading to Atlanta IMO is the reason Warner's lasts another week. 4 of the following 6 are at home & the two on the road are against Oakland & GB.

Bet Green forgot who they are playing in week 4...you don't throw a rookiee in the fire... :lmao:
Bet Denny never intended to change and Mort reported a RUMOR. Can we start relying on PFT for actual news and ESPN for made up crap?
This is a sad turn of events for ESPN and Mort has lost credibility with me. I know some will say his credibility was already long gone, and I agree things have been deteriorating at ESPN for awhile, but this seemed like the height of fake news from the minute he reported it. It's been described by others, and if you didn't see it, it went like this."Denny Green says he's undecided about his starters this week. But we're going to go ahead and call it. Matt Leinart will start at QB this week for the Cardinals." That may not be the exact quote, but it's close enough. Importantly was the knowing pause between fact and fiction from Mort. It was as if he knew darn well he was making up the news, and he also didn't seem excited to do it. I would guess he had been instructed to do it. Which truly sucks. If he did it on his own, just to try and scoop a possible story with a wild guess, well that's pretty rotten reporting. If he did it as a subordinate taking orders, then shame on him for being gutless and having zero journalistic integrity. Making matters worse is the whole network seemed to be laying in the weeds with this breaking story. It was mentioned during the game. It was treated as fact at halftime by other reporters and then yet again by others late night doing an NFL show. It really sucked that they tried to pull this off and I wonder if they believed they could drive the news. Very very stupid if so.

VERY VERY :goodposting:

ESPN story. Pretty funny. SOunds like Denny never changed his mind at all. Warner was the starter last week and he's the starter this week. ESPN is making it seem as if the rumor they reported was fact and that the Denny later changed his mind. The fact of the matter is that Warner was never benched and Leinert was never named the starter. Minds weren't "changed".

The sad thing for me is that unless I get Huard off the WW tonight I will be starting Leinart anyways and likely taking a zero from my QB.

:bag: looks like I should have started him over Ben.

Nobody will probably start him against Chicago, but after that, does he become a decent starter? (he may be in my lineup after next week)
