Leon Hall (1 Viewer)

Per rotoworld:

Rookie Leon Hall has taken over as the Bengals' starting left cornerback, replacing Deltha O'Neal.

O'Neal is still playing a lot of snaps, but mostly in the nickel. Hall, Cincinnati's first-round pick, is a good tackling corner and will be a solid IDP. He has 18 tackles, two interceptions, and five breakups in his last three games.

Thought he might be a playoff sleeper candidate for deep leagues. Anthony or Jene, any chance he might end up with Tampa-2 CB value?

Another guy on a tear is Antrell Rolle. You couldn't miss yesterday's game obviously, but the 10-tackle performance two weeks before was eye opening as well. Is he starting now or still the Cardinal's nickel back?

Hall is too inconsistent with his tackling to be a consistent DB option. He whiffed on a couple yesterday, including a corner blitz that should have resulted in a sack. His opportunity will stay high enough in CB specific leagues with the upcoming schedule to make him a solid option though.Rolle is likely to remain the nickel back, I'd guess. He was gambling and guessing all day long and burnt for it more than it paid off. It really paid off big twice though, so you won't hear much about the yards he gave up messing around. If he becomes more disciplined, he's a guy with great value -- he's got the ball skills clearly but also the physical run support skill that a CB needs to have IDP value. Many of us really liked him last year.

He may miss a few tackles, but he's going to get plenty of opportunities in this sieve of a defense. Despite some of the other corners on this team, he's at least willing to try and tackle. I think the fact that they are sending him on a blitz is encouraging, even if he missed on the play. With picking up garbage tackles from poor tackling up front, tackles from being picked on in coverage, being on the field plenty, and the occasional interception (which he's been opportunistic with at this point), I certainly think he's worth consideration - even if it's not a mandatory corner league. Having said that, I suspect we will see him to get eaten for lunch a few more times by opposing Wr's for the next few weeks.
