I think he has a chance to be top 10. I'd rather have him than Thomas Jones this year. And his return yards are even more of a bonus in those types of leagues.
Definitely a great value in PPR leagues where he was going. Looks great, and this regime is actually willing to make him the 1A (but will they be willing to pay him?) When Shonn Greene returns, he'll be a threat to Jones, not LWash, although Jones had a younger man's burst on his long runs. Jones might end up being just fine because Rex uses him more liberally than Mangini did. If this is a successful team a la the 08 Ravens, Jones and Washington could both make owners happy at their ADP.

the Jets supposedly have a $5 mill/year deal on the table but Washington's camp has some problems with (back loaded and they want more money supposedly). He's definitely in their long term plans while Jones is not. In dynasty leagues you should try and get him while you still can but it may be too late now it appears that he'll be getting a lot more touches this year. I think there will be enough touches to go around between the two of them. If he can continue to get the carries like he did last week he'll have a great year, especially in PPR leagues. There's no reason he shouldn't continue to get the carries since the new regime said he would and then in the 1st game it's nearly a 50-50 split. Last year Jones had an 80-20 split with the carries (290 to 76) and in game 1 in the Rex Ryan regime the split was 58-42 (20 to 15) and touches were 50-50.Washington was actually much more effective throughout the course of the game and got decent chunks of yards. Jones on the other hand did nothing for 3 quarters (14-16 with long runs of 3 yards) and then busted two long runs in the 4th to make the stat line look nice but if you watched the game or look at the play by play it tells a different story.
Non-PPR top 250 ranks Jones at 41 overall and RB21 while Washington is at 76 overall and RB33. Is this the general SP consensus? Can any homers chime in on how each guy has looked?

I think they will have a pretty even work load all year, with Jones in line for some good TD numbers, so that bumps him up higher. Leon won't take the job from the old guy, but if age ever catches up to him......look out Leon owners!

not a homer but an owner (Washington). When they need a big play they put the ball in Washington's hands. Jones will get his carries but last year he got 77% of the carries, this year it'll be 55-45/50-50. Washington will probably end up with 200-225 carries and 50ish receptions. Jones probably close to the same carries and very few receptions but more TDs.
This is the week he breaks one because I am starting him in Gore's absence. I could be the luckiest SOB on this board. Drew Brees = ZERO vs FavreCo = WIN.
the line has not run-blocked very well at all. I think they're too talented not to improve. I own Leon in my league (PPR), but would certainly target him if i didn't. He still has a ton of upside if the line plays better.

Thomas Jones has looked serviceable and gotten some tough yards – he is rarely tackled for a loss and does not fumble.Leon has looked faster than everyone on the field and has been close to breaking the big one on a couple of occasions, but is just missing getting tripped up.At this point, I am in a PPR league and would prefer Leon the rest of the way. He will get in the end zone this weekend.
