in what might be a record year for coaches with new teams next season here is how i see it breaking down.

AFC EAST

New England: bellichek safe

New York Jets: Ryan Safe

Miami: Sparano hot seat but i think they stick with him one more year

Bills: chan gaily i think he is safe, they are competitive and he will be given another season

AFC NORTH:

pittsburgh: tomlin safe

baltimore: harbaugh safe

cleveland: mangini on hot seat, but i think he stays

cincy: marvin lewis, for the love of god its time for him to go, he cant even suck right, winning now tha tthey are out of contention (bengals fan here)

AFC SOUTH

INDY: caldwell safe, was a lil worrisome but think he has righted ship

Jacksonville: del rio should be safe, injuries killed him but solid season

Titans: fisher is gone next season, and will be scooped up by some team greatful for the tennesee debacle.

Texans: kubiak if they think they can get a cowher he is gone otherwise stick with him.

AFC WEST:

KC: Haley afc coach of the year this season? who did more with less than he did

CHargers: turner i think is gone too much talent for that team not to be winning

Oakland: cable is safe

broncos: eric studesvile : interim coach most likely to be gone

NFC EAST:

philly: reid is safe always a threat to say he has had enough and walk away though

giants: coughlin- borderline here, a dissappointing season and if giants can land a game changer they may think its time for a change.

redskins: shanahan safe this year

dallas: garrett he has won the job whether jones gives it to him no one knows but Jones. I think garrett sticks around

NFC NORTHL

da bears: lovie smith safe

packers: mcarthy safe, injuries killed this team and he still has them in hunt, outside looking in but enough to be safe

vikings: frazier i think they offer it to him,

lions: schwartz- lions play tough and hard for him, he is safe and the are dangerous next year.

NFC SOUTH

falcons: smith safe, my vote for NFC coach of the year

saints: payton - safe

bucs: raheem morris-safe and has this team playing well

panthers: fox he is gone, worst team in nfl cant even use injuries as excuse to be this bad

nfc west:

rams: spagnuolo, good coach and fit for this young team done a great a job this season

seahawks: carroll still has another year to turn it around before hot seat applied to him

49ers: tomsula- he is gone, new regime to begin in san fran

cardinals: wisenhunt, they will stick with him

wont be a record. i think there was 11 in 2009 and by my analysis looks to be probably ten if you count interim coaches as new head coaches.

i think the obvious locks to be looking for a new coach are Carolina, Houston, Cincy and Denver

i think houston will land cowher (although giants i think might have best chance if they fire coughlin), if they dont land cowher then i think billick might be next coach

i hope cincy goes for fischer once he is available - fisher has a history of winning with less and the bengals are always going to have less, (if not fischer then bengals may go after jim harbaugh who has built a good resume and may be a good fit for a rebuilding reshaping of the bengals)

denver may get brian schottenheimer or morningwegh, both current offensive coardinators, shoudl be able to work with tebow and see if he is nfl qb or not, downside is they get saddled with tebow, and if he does not develop they go down with him.

carolina i think goes defense and tries to build basics, i think based on this and the pedigree they go out and hire rob ryan from cleveland. billick could also be a candidate in carolina.

i dont think any team gets gruden to consider leaving the cushy broadcast booth, although he will be contacted by most.

Miaimi: I think Sparano is out. 1-7 home record and does not Parcells there to save him.Texans: Kubiak is outChargers: Spanos said Smith and Norv will both be backOakland: I think Cable could go either wayPhilly: Why is Reid always a threat to walk away?Giants: I think Coughlin is goneDallas: Judging by Jerry's most recent comments you would think Garrett will not be back

From the Miami Herald -Good chance Sparano sticks.....

So, again, money is a major variable in this coming decision. Well, here's a money matter Ross should weigh before he makes his decision:

If he fires Sparano and brings in a "star" coach who then brings his own general manager type, the cost is going to be exceptional. Ross will be on the hook for paying the final year of Sparano's contract (approximately $3 million), he'll be on the hook for Ireland (approximately $2 million), he'll be on the hook for Bill Parcells ($4 million), he'll be on the hook for assistants (including Mike Nolan), and he hasn't even started paying the folks that will be actually working for him.

Ross will have to pay that "star" coach and that will cost approximately $6-$8 million. He'll have to pay for the new GM, which will be another $2 million or so, and of course, he'll be paying for a new coaching staff while stay paying off the contracts of the assistants still under contract that the new coach does not retain.

Do the math. Changing administrations could cost Ross between $18-$24 million.

All kinds of rumors this week in Texans' land with the strongest being Kubiak stays with Wade Phillips coming in a DC. Don't have a feel for the percentage chance on this but, given the owner's history of having too much patience with guys that he likes, it leads many of us to thinking that it the highest percentage chance of that happening.

I really want to be wrong, but looking forward to another season of  As Houston fans I guess we'll just continue to believe in fools gold...
