Let's choose Trump's VP (1 Viewer)

I was thinking the same thing.  Would Rubio or Kasich really sell their souls by playing second fiddle to Trump?  How could they seriously campaign about how wonderful a Trump presidency will be?  Fundamentally, what mainstream Republican could stand up at the convention and sing Trump's praises?  What is there to speak of?  His bankruptcies?  His marriages?  His hatred, biases, and anger?

Which begs the question: What if the Republican establishment just backs away ...nobody accepts the VP nomination, and Trump is forced to pick someone from the B team or worse?

So weird ...so weird.
This may very well happen. The Weekly Standard guys are suggesting trying to coax Mitt Romney or someone like him into a 3rd party run; "to save the honor of the Republican party."

Tim, I couldn't agree more. Thanks for continuing to carry the torch because I no longer have the patience or energy to pay much attention anymore. I just want the election to be over.
Don't give up, McGarnicle. We're just getting started. Let me tell you, and I mean this seriously: years from now you will be proud that you fought against Donald Trump. It's like we're back in the McCarthy era. People with courage need to speak out now.

Rubio is a w***e. He would w***e himself out for any shot at being president. Taking the VP spot would get him 2nd in line for the presidency.
Funny ...that's the word I was first going to use.  It'll be interesting to see if it's true (as you believe)!  Still - hard to imagine.

Marshawn Lynch. Wouldn't steal any of Trump's limelight since he'll refuse to say anything to the media.

You're inspiring me to do even more to defeat the evil witch Hillary. Thanks buddy.

We're screwed. He's our next president unless he gets hit by a meteor imo. Just gotta have faith in our checks & balances I guess, and hope we're still standing after four years.

Chris Christie.  Similar in the bombastic style, probably similar social views (mostly liberal) but believes in a strong military and police.  Can handle himself well on a stage and does offer some real experience.

Trump seems to like him

He was a flawed candidate but I thought he won every debate. I like his pragmatic style for sure. Needs to lay off the Ring Dings.

Latest according to OddsShark...

John Kasich +230

Nikki Haley +260

Marco Rubio +470

Susana Martinez +1350

Carly Fiorina +1450

Chris Christie +1450

Ted Cruz +1500

Rob Portman +1800

Scott Walker +2500

Kasich is getting the nod IMO.

Ying to yang. A perfect base to calm down the acid. It works, it makes sense and I think it is going to happen once Trump get's the nomination. I have been a Kasich backer and never thought Trump would last. I was flat out wrong. Trump has surprised a lot of people. It just shows IMO how weak the field really is when a guy like Trump who is about as un-presidential a candidate I have ever seen in my voting life is going to win the nomination.

So good for him. I think Kasich would be a very smart and moderate choice and make a highly formidable and winnable general election vs whomever the Dem's throw out there.
