Lets discuss Tiki Barber. (1 Viewer)

Tiki just had is best season ( probably one of the best 15 season for a RB in NFL history )

he is top shape did not get overused ( has been a starter for the past 4 seasons only ) i say he should be good for two or three more seasons ( if spelled by Jacobs like 10 carries a game ).

Do you really think he will retire , i think not .

Of course i hope not , i just traded James and the 11th rookie pick in 2007 for Barber and Lendale White .

But i think he can play until 33 or 34 .

What do you think guys.

Why is it that people never believe these guys when they say they are going to retire... Jerry Rice and Mike Jordan really ruin it for everyone else?

Because he denied it a few weeks later , i think if the Giants contend for the super bowl this season but come up short he wont retire he wants to win.

Good point. I can see him sticking around in hopes of winning the SB. So, I highly doubt he retires as I don't think NYG even wins their division. :)

He looks very comfortable doing FOX and Friends on Tuesday AM's. Senator Tiki perhaps.

I always wanted a ticket of Mark Cuban and Tiki as a 3rd party ticket. :coffee:

I think it starts occurring to many RB's in their 30's that every additional year they play may be 3-5 extra years that they can't walk without pain later in life. It also can be the case that they want to retire on top.

That said, I have no clue about Tiki or what his plans are. He is one of the smarter and more articulate guys out there, so he certainly has options for himself outside of playing football.

Totally agree here. He's getting older and the toll a year takes on RBb's bodies is brutal. He could probaly choose his network to work for (Should he want to go in broadcasting). Tiki is all class and will succeed in anything he decides to do.

Two more seasons from Tiki himself:

"There is probably more sense of urgency for me now, as I approach the season, because I know there isn't a lot of time left for me to be ultimately successful, and win a Super Bowl," said Barber, who despite getting better with age, understands the ravages of 10 seasons of pounding. "It's not a big window, ever, for a player or a team in this league. For me, I'd say two years, and that's probably it. I'll be 33 then and … well, you know."

Because he wants a ring. Remember Bettis being talked out of it last year because they were so close?Remember also that Tiki didn't play much for several years. In some ways his body has low mileage.

HE has said plenty about retiring after this year. It doesn't feel right to second guess him but (like Seau and countless others) I do expect a change of heart at some point. He's always on the radio around NY so we'll certainly hear about it if he changes his mind

what's fox and friends? Tiki has always said he wanted to do a show for kids teaching them some thing about the game.I always figured he'd be doing games on Sunday and saturday morning there'd be some type of "football with tiki" show amidst the cartoons
