I remember this being a series last season. Pick a player, and add commentary as appropriate...

So Steve McNair. What's the prognosis on him after week 1? He looked crisp, making good reads and sharp passes. This guy can't hurt you - but can he help you?? The biggest question is how often will Baltimore throw the ball? As long as Jamal Lewis stays healthy, and the D performs like they did last Sunday, he may not have the opportunity to show what he's got. Great in the real-world, bad for fantasy. Thoughts?

I think McNair will be a 10-15 rank type of guy all year. As long as Bal is winning - and I think they'll do that a lot - he'll have 200/1 type of games. Certainly a guy that can be a starter any given week, kind of like Roethlisberger. Don't forget, even Kyle Boller has had times when he is a good fantasy QB and McNair is ten times the player Boller is.

Ronde Barber ripped him a little on The Barber Shop.

He said "McNair really did not show me anything, he dinked and dunked like he has the last few years."

Thanks Ronde...great analysis there. When they were up by more than 20 points should he have been throwing flea flickers?

Seriously. Before I read this post, I was going to add that McNair never really tested Tampa deep. Of course, when you are running the ball at will and everyone is constantly open, no need to go deep. The only thing that concerned me is that it seemed anytime he targetted Heap, he was way off a lot more than with anyone else. Heap should've had about 10 catches. He seemed a lot more comfortable with Daniel Wilcox. Just one game though.

What do we see against Oakland this week? Baltimore running the ball and ahead all game, or some kind of pass-happy shoot-out?

I think after watching SD, the Ravens will take a similar approach that they won't throw unless they absolutely have to. I expect a heavy rotation of all three RBs pounding it down the Raiders' throats all day. Obviously, none of those three are LT, but I expect it to be enough to control the game and get out with a comfortable win unless the secondary falls asleep and lets moss get behind them for a play. I really don't undestand the thought behind predicting a big game for McNair this week.

Marty had the kid gloves on last week with Phillip, McNair will have more than 11 attempts. And the Ravens should be in several scoring postions so I expect him to have 2 touchdowns. If he finds a DBack cheating he could have a 50 or 60 yard pass that puts him around 250 passing yards for the game. Obviously those are optomistic figures but if your considering starting McNair your not dependent on him putting up stud numbers. Low risk, high reward start for those with average qbs.

Barber needs to realize that that's an improvement for Baltimore & may be all that they need. It was certainly enough against Ronde's team, wasn't it?McNair can dink & dunk all day long as far as I'm concerned. If he doesn't turn the ball over, he can average 4 yds per completion for all I care (hyperbole there, folks, but the point remains). I'm looking for something like 150 yds & a TD tomorrow for McNair. I agree with Mungo - I want to see 40+ rushes out of the Ravens on Sunday.Bisciotti should have a guillotine in front of each O-lineman's locker with the words "if Steve gets sacked......" on them.

I wouldn't expect 300 yards from Air McNair this week, but at least two TDs wouldn't surprise me at all. Could be a big week for Heap owners.

after watching a good portion of Balt/TB and Oak/SD, it is clear to me the approach the Ravens will take emulates SD game plan....heavy dose of RB, w/light passing attack

40-210-2 on the ground

14-21--179--1 via the air

D/ST records another one

3 from Matt

37-13 final
