Let's Talk Penn State Football (2 Viewers)

Big stop at 11:33 mark in the 4th, and the punt yeilded great field position. Momentum has dramatically shifted in our favor. Would be great to

score something on this drive; even a FG forces Wildcats to score a TD to win, and the way things are moving, that might be asking a lot of N'western.

ETA: Barkley is so good, and so clutch. Extends the drive with a 24-yard run on a 3-14 draw play.

Nice to see the team battle back in the 2nd half today, but the whole team is being held back by poor coaching.

Making easy wins too close and turning close wins into close losses like today.

Tired of hearing about sanctions. A good staff should make average talent good and good talent better. I didn't see a talent gap today, so it lands on the coaches.

Play of the game was the shoestring tackle on Barkley by the NW defender one play before the ill-fated 3rd and 1 wildcat.

Still hoping the team finds ways to win games like this, someday soon. Thought the Pinstripe Bowl might have been a turning point, but we are back to losing every time we play a team with a pulse with the only variable being whether it is a heartbreaker (like today) or a blowout (like OSU).

Feels like you should be the team up 10 right now.
Yep. Penn State shredding the MSU defense. If not for the turnovers and the inexplicable decision not to run at the goal line, they could have 4 TDs on the board.

MSU's offense hasn't looked too bad either though, just hasn't been on the field much.

Any chance/rumors that Pitt and Penn State might meet in a bowl?
The ACC and B1G have two bowls together; the Pinstripe Bowl in NYC (where PSU was last year) and the Quick Lane Bowl in Detroit.

I kind of doubt they meet in a bowl, especially since they begin a 4-year home and home starting next year.

So sPitt is in the Military Bowl just after Christmas while Penn State will play in the traditional New Year's Day Gator Bowl (nee' Taxslayer).

So....just like the good old days? :oldunsure:

Joe Moorehead from Fordham to be signed as Offensive Coordinator. The little research that I've done seems to point to this being a good hire. Took a 1-11 Fordham team and took them to 6-5 his first year as HC, then 12-2, then 10+ win seasons since then.

Future Penn State OOC opponents -- Georgia State and Appalachian State? Are you freaking kidding me?? And Idaho isn't much better. Sheesh. Would it kill them to work in Syracuse and some other mid-level teams from the AAC, ACC or Big 12?

You have to schedule teams that are willing to play at Beaver Stadium without getting a home game if you want to have 7 home games.
I get that. However, could we do better than 2 FCS schools?

All three are FBS - Sun Belt

I stand corrected.
