I wouldn't want Arrington or Shipp, I don't see appreciable numbers coming from the AZ running game.  These arent't the sleepers you're looking for, you can go about your business.

The defense looked nice though, except for the blown coverage on the Moss td.

:end jijack
The shark way to handle this group is to let Arrington suck in the beginning of the year and then trade for him. But I agree at this poin, I don't like what I've seen from the AZ running game up to this point.
That's certainly one way to play it. For myself I hopefully have put myself in a position with my running backs not to have to consider such a trade, but you never know.Just to further the hijack - not only was I concerned about the run game, but the pass game looked shakey as well. Warner is still extremely bad in the face of pressure, and he got pressured often this weekend. Some of the decisions he made were real head scratchers too. I honestly don't see him lasting the season as the starter - either due to injury or incompetence. It was interesting seeing Navarre get all the rest of the qb time. He didn't look great either, so I'm wondering if he got all the time because McCown has #2 locked up, or they want to give Navarre more experience because he's #2.
Agreed. Usually not a good sign when you're trading for RBs in midseason. Nevertheless, he could be a throw-in by then.

I own both JJA and Shipp and had to invest more than I needed to in order to get them, but since I have both I will give my opinion on what I have seen.I think in each game about the time JJA has started to hit his stride he has come out. I will be honest I was not too thrilled from what I saw from him either. It was mostly his fumbling and lack of blocking. I took Shipp's success with a grain of salt because he has been going against back-ups. He did well enough and JJA did poor enough that I went out a got Shipp to cover my rear though.I watched the Oak game very closely. I had it on my Tivo so I watched most of the relevant plays a few times. What I saw in this game helped me to regain some confidence in JJA. Here is what I saw. His pass protection was much better. On most plays he got his guy on the ground. He went low and took their legs out. Also he ran the ball much better overall. Most of his runs were in the 3-5 yard range. He lost about 12 yards on 2 different carries in which he was hit about the same time he got the ball (so this takes away confidence in the AZ run game though). He also didn't fumble. Also he was only taken out because he asked to come out (I can't stand that but anyway). After his 20 yard run they went right back to him at the 10 and he got 5 yards down to the 5. He then pulled himself and Shipp came in and got 2 yards on the next play. Now for some of the bad, he won't break many tackles and is knocked off his feet pretty easily.Shipp really didn't play much to get a good idea and most of it was in scrub time. He did have a very nice run. He showed a good burst and vision, but one time he seemed to run so upright he just smacked into the line and bounced back. There was also a nice screen play set up and after about 5 yards a guy already on the ground was able to tackle Shipp otherwise the play should've went for more.I am not saying Shipp won't take over at some point but I saw improvement in the rookie from the last game to this one. I'd like to see what Shipp can do with the starters and about 10 carries or so. On a side note, Warner can still play if given time. I am losing faith in the AZ O-line though. I think they will keep everyone in check for AZ from a fantasy perspective.

20) Marcel Shipp - Is emerging as the clear compliment to Arrington in the AZ backfield. WRONG!

19) David Terrel -Name the last time Givens and Branch have played anything close to an entire season :crickets:

Terrel has been clicking with his old teammate in camp. He could put up monster numbers once given the opportunity. WRONG!

18) Mark Clayton - Got his butt into camp and has been impressive. Baltimore will find a way to get their most athletically gifted WR on the field. GOOD CALL HERE, JUST A YEAR TOO LATE

17) Brian Westbrook - With his holdout short-lived, he will be more heavily relied upon than ever with the WR situation disintegrating at an alarming rate. WESTBROOK HAD 1500 TOTAL YARDS BEFORE THIS POST - NOT SURE HE IS CONSIDERED A "UP AND COMING" GUY

16) Courtney Anderson - Recently named the #1 in Oakland, if you're looking for a starter with upside late in drafts, he's worth the flier. WRONG!

15) Ricky Williams - You don't have to like him to realize he's the back with the most ability that's currently in camp. WRONG!

14) Fred Taylor - Appears on track to be ready for the season opener and all reports have been positive regarding his in-camp play. GOOD CALL!

13) Bobby Engram - Still running with the first team in an offense that is usually among the passing yardage leaders. Up to this point, nobody appears to be making a serious push for Engram's spot. WRONG!

12) Jerome Bettis - Staley is out for an extended period of time and Bettis showed he could carry the load for stretches at a time last year. WRONG!

11) Thomas Jones - Jones has looked great in preseason thus far and Benson is still holding out...btw, Jones is more talented than Benson. GOOD CALL!

10) Roydell Williams - Early camp news had been focused on Brandon Jones but homers have long been reporting that Williams is making the most noise in camps. Williams validated the buzz by hauling in two receptions for 80 yards in his first preseason game. With Calico still ailing Roydell might be the sleeper out of Tennessee WRONG!

9) Cedrick Wilson - The Ward holdout is beginning to get ugly and reports from camp state that Ced is giving Randle El all that he can handle in the starting WR competition. At worst he's a #3 that gets a lot of looks, at best he's the #1 WR in week 1. WRONG!!!

8) LJ Smith - The TO situation is grim to say the least and the WRs are inexperienced. This could be the year where the talent and opportunity collide. WRONG AGAIN!!!

7) Steve McNair - Looked great in his first preseason action and reports are unanimous that he's in his old form. He was 3rd in ppg in 2003. WRONG!

6) Reggie Brown - Despite his inexperience he's been turning heads in camp. Given the TO situation and Pinkston injury the opportunity may present itself for Brown before many of us had anticipated it would. WRONG!!

5) Larry Johnson - I still don't advocate his selection at his current ADP but Priest is stating he's only at 80% and LJ has looked like a star in camp. DUH!

4) Gus Frerotte - put up 140 yards in limited action in his first preseason game and his WRs have been receiving praise from coach Saban...even David Boston. WRONG!!

3) Ben Troupe - Is healing faster than expected and as previously mentioned his MVP QB hasn't looked too shabby either. OBTW, Chow is predicting big reception totals for his TEs. WRONG!!!

2) Reggie Williams - Early reports are that he is a different player in this year's camp. WRONG!!!

1) Mike Anderson - Less than a month away from the beginning of the season and Anderson is still #1 on the depth chart...easily worth his ADP. RIGHT!!!
Bump just for prosperity. When taking LHUCKS advice, realize he's right about 15% of the time. This list is priceless.

This is about the dumbest bump I've seen in ages.

Mike Anderson hadn't even broken the 400 yard mark in four years, and in 2005 he goes for 1014. And Buttmonkey calls this WRONG?

A little more checking and we find that for 2005:

Mike Anderson was the #10 fantasy RB

Ben Troupe was the #12 TE

Gus Frerotte was the #17 QB

Larry Johnson was the #2 RB

Looks like four of the top five were RIGHT.

Good catch and fixed. Up that percentage to 20%. Now, before most people get their panties in an uproar. If you're going to be obnoxious and arrogant, then you'd better know what you're talking about. Obviously, LHUCKS doesn't and that was my point. Have a nice day.

whos alias is buttmonkey?

I would like to say that I enjoy LHUCKS' commentary, even if they arent the most accurate, they are well researched and he does put a considerable amount of time in to them, whats your claim to fame? what great achievements have you done in the shark pool to critisize LHUCKS?

some people are just pure haters.

Where exactly has a poster like buttmonkey even bothered to make a thread like this and show us his prowess???
