My opinion is that the most you can expect out of a FF superstar is 3 possibly 4 years

How long have the top players held thier spot

Emmitt

Sanders

Priest

Alexander

Faulk

T Davis

?????

Players with elite talent will tend to stay at the top longer than good players in great situations since situations change over time. Therefore, backs like Sanders, Emmitt, Faulk, LT tend to last longer than backs like Priest, Alexander.

Elite Football Players last about 10 to 12 yrs (sometimes more)

So I would say the formula for a Great FF Player would be:

1st 2 season are good; then the next 3 too 4 yrs of great production followed by those last couples of yrs of decline production.

Like the last poster said... those Super Elites can give you great production for as long as 6 yrs.

WRs seems to last the longest / Followed by QBs / TEs / then RBs usually have the shortest FF life span.
