if I didnt like my job or my boss I wouldn't be working where I work.

life is too short and money isn't important enough to work at a ####ty job with a ####ty boss

I like both my boss and job. I don't like the two people above my boss. Personally, they are fine....professionally, not what I like to see from upper management.

I guess my boss is OK, don't have a whole lot of respect for his boss, and even less respect for the guys above him. As a general rule, The higher up the food chain you look, the less I like the management... at least at this company.

I hated my job last year but they gave me an office now, so that seemed to pacify me, for now at least.

Like my job, boss is ok. At my level the boss means little, he's a politician first and I understand that. I'm Ops so I can do pretty much anything I want within the bounds of mission accomplishment.

The problem I have is a chief of another directorate who is a flaming #####. Can't do anything about it at the moment, but she's gonna slip and I'm gonna mop the floor with her when she does.

Like my job, like my boss. I see my boss and co-workers about 8 times a year, and I actually look forward to seeing them on those occasions.

My company is pretty small, 11 people total and everyone is treated like family.

I thought I knew what the edit was until I found out it was a she.

You see your coworkers and boss less than once a month? that sounds glorious

I freelance now but the last place I worked full time was great. Corporate audio-visual company. Everyone got along, the boss was an old hippie, pretty cool. But then he brought his wife into the company. A few people had seen it happen before and warned us. They were right. She ruined the company.

Yup. My company is in a different state, the only time I see anyone is at monthly meetings that happen about 8 times a year. Right now I'm in the middle of a 2 month stretch without seeing anyone from my company. Last meeting was Jan 31st, next one is March 31st. My boss usually calls me once or twice a month to touch base, but some months I don't hear from him at all. It IS glorious.

1st job out of college was hell. Was the last time I worked for someone else. Amazing how quality of life improves.

True.

Really like my career (9/10), like my current assignment (7/10). Honestly, it's the easiest position I've had with the best hours and yet there's still enough of a challenge and learning opportunities most days to keep things interesting. It's a different atmosphere than I've ever worked at, with much more of a large corporate feel than I'm used to.

Fully expect to like the new assignment we move to this summer. Could be longer hours but I'll be running the office so it will be a new challenge.

Have liked most bosses I've had (range from 3/10 to 9/10), current one is alright (7/10). There are things he does that I don't like but he's a good person, well respected throughout the community, he treats us well, and I learn a lot from him.

I love my job. I dislike my work environment. I liked my old boss as a person. But she was a horrible boss and not smart. She set us back years of keeping with the times. She retired last year, and still no replacement.

This sounds very similar to my situation/job, except that we have a monthly meeting that's generally canceled 3-4 times a year. When I was offered the job, one key factor in me accepting was being told that "you do have bosses, but you're basically your own boss running your own company." As long as I get the work done I set my own schedule (office/field). Go where I want to go or where I feel is necessary. I talk to my boss a little more regularly, which isn't bad because he's pretty laid back. And in 99% of those conversations, I'm the one calling him.
