Lions at Eagles (1 Viewer)

What a joke, not 1 run play in OT and end up with 3rd and 31. Vick got paid and checked out and Reid is too dumb to run the ball.

Vick didn't check out. I never understood that, the guy doesn't have that much money and could be gone at the end of the year. Dude hasn't checked out but either way, Vick and Andy are 4-5 games away from being out the door.

Depends on what you mean by "that much money." Yes, he filed for bankruptcy awhile ago, but the contract he signed this past offseason gave him $40M guaranteed. That should be enough to last most people.

I don't think he checked out. I just think he's not a good QB. He has elite physical tools but can't put it together. I don't blame Reid for not running the ball. There was nothing there all game. When it comes down to it, the Eagles missed some opportunities on offense, but an epic collapse by the defense cost them this game. Felt like I was watching the 2011 team.

Apparently you're not allowed to play poorly after you sign a contract, else you'll have people on internet forums getting upset with you.

The guaranteed number is very misleading. The $3 million guaranteed next year is only under injury so if they cut him within 2 days of the Super Bowl he loses that guaranteed and doesn't see a dime. He has made $31 million and has spent $29.6 million between taxes, child support, lawyers, etc. And $2 million sounds like a lot but that could be his career earnings. He'll probably get a back up QB job after this but he won't be NFL rich.http://www.tmz.com/2012/10/02/michael-vick-29-million-bankruptcy-philadelphia-eagles/

Wait, did you just cite TMZ on the FB forums? :) In all seriousness, though, it's a good find. However, note that he's also guaranteed $12.5M for the 2012 season. That's still $8.5M - $9M after taxes. I don't know what the situation is now with his creditors, but if it's cleared up, that's still plenty to get by on.Of course, if he's still millions in debt, then all bets are off.

He is still in debt. One article said he owes $20 million and paid off a few million so far. Creditors said they hoped it'd be paid off by 2014. Additionally, I think the 30 million included some of his $12.5 million salary. He made $1.6 million in his first year and had the $5.2 million option picked up. With his new contract, he got his $7 million signing bonus and made $13 million last year. So that is $26.8 million. And b/c of what he is making this year, he owes 40% of it to creditors. The numbers don't seem to synch 100% but either way, the guy isn't living the big life. Sure a few million looks good but assuming he doesn't have many other skills, he has to make his career earnings in the next 2-5 years. And I can cite some other sources. I read it somewhere but couldn't remember and that was the source I could find.

I don't know why people are questioning whether Vick will be a starter next year. If Gailey keep his job, Vick's his man next year, guaranteed.

Everywhere I look I do not see Vick getting credit for a fumble, but didn't he miss a bad shotgun snap that Detroit recovered?

No one has a thought?
They credited it to the center and rightfully so. He barely touched it and never really had possession. Similar to the fumble he had when Bryce Brown missed the carry.
Can a center get charged with a fumble on the shotgun snap?Have to wait to see what Elias says I guess.
