NFL rosters don't stay the same year after year. There always will be many players not on a team one year that were on it the previous year.

Alvin Harper left Dallas before their 3rd Super Bowl win in the 90's.

Here's a few from last year's New York Giants

Tiki Barber Retired

Tim Carter Cleveland

Jay Feely Miami

Luke Petitgout Tampa

Carlos Emmons Retired

Lavar Arrington Released and not played since ( not sure if he's officially retired )

Bob Whitfield Retired

Well that goes without saying.I'm not surprised, I am just curious on who JUUUUST missed out on being on a championship team.

Lawyer Milloy certainly comes to mind... cut just before the start of the regular season; Pats go on to win the Super Bowl without him.

John Jurkovic - a huge fan favorite in Green Bay, who unfortunately left for Jacksonville after the 1995 season. His life has since spiraled down the tubes, as he finds himself in a deplorable position on Chicago sports radio pretending to be a Bear fan.

:goodposting: IIRC he grew up in Calumet City. Not sure how that makes him a "pretend" fan. And exactly how has his life "spiraled down the tubes"? He's very entertaining on the radio.

both parts of the Eagles longtime CB duo(Troy Vincent and Bobby Taylor) left right before they made the superbowl. people think the Al Harris/Charles Woodson CB duo are physical CB's

I have to ask, how did you come up with this list?

NFL rosters don't stay the same year after year. There always will be many players not on a team one year that were on it the previous year. Alvin Harper left Dallas before their 3rd Super Bowl win in the 90's.
Right. But I think there's a difference between role players and franchise-type players. Two recent ones that stick out are Edge and Tiki. They were both workhorses for their teams for at least seven years without winning a SB. They both leave and the very next year their teams win the SB. That has to sting just a little.
