This one happened Monday at the first practice, too good not to pass along....
This is for 5/6 yr olds. I am coaching my son's team, age 6. Like most 6 year olds who have played he understands the basics, and hits pretty well. Fielding is a different story... Anyway, as the kids are arriving at the field one of the kids and his Dad show up. The dad tells me he bought his kid a glove, but isn't sure if it is for the correct hand or not. I ask him which hand his son throws with. He has no idea. I roll the kid a ball and ask him to throw it to me. The kid throws it lefthanded. I tell the Dad his child throws lefty and therefore needs a glove for his right hand. Of course, the Dad has bought a glove for his left hand, but the tags are still on it so he going to return it and get a lefty mitt. No big deal. The dad then asks, "Is the bat I got him OK, I mean, he is a lefty." After going like this
I almost told the Dad he needed to get a left handed bat as well.
Good Times! I guess i just don't get how someone can be that clueless about baseball!
