Live Mock Draft (2 Round) (1 Viewer)

Shanahan's desperate for a pass rush. Give him Dumervil. He's never played in Cleveland, but he stayed in the Holiday Inn there.

Sheesh, they took Jackson and DeAngelo in the first. That DL is a problem. Sure I was joking about Dumervil, but Anderson, Tapp, Edwards, seems like a must...

Even Dvoracek or McCargo or Wright at DT makes more sense than all three picks going to offensive skill positions.

2.29 Denver - jackal- (picked by milfoshane) Daryl Tapp (DE, Virginia Tech)

They grab a young passrucher to round out the Brown's D line

I agree

Well they already got Kenard Lang and Amon Gordon so it looks like the Cleveland cupboard is bare again...

Signing off, but I'll check back in in about an hour to see if the next few picks have been made.

milfoshane, check post #1 - I think you wrote over the #1 pick with the #60 pick. :) Seriously, thanks for updating this thread, and thanks to everyone who participated....

2.62 - Tampa Bay - Deuce Lutui, OG USC

This will allow new pickup Tucker to stay outside with Davis, Walker, and last years pick Colmer. Inside they can pair Lutui up with Buenning and new pickup Fonoti and they can move Mahan to center along with Wade (who is almost done anyway). But really we just needed a Deuce on the team so the fans can chant Duuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuucccccccccccceeeeeeeeeeee if he ever picks up a fumble or throws a pancake block or something.

Other players considered:

OT - Whitworth (LSU)

DT - Wright (Texas)

DT - Harris (Miami)

2.31 Seatle -fridayfrenzy- (picked by milfoshane) Mark Anderson (DE, Alabama)

With the several FS still on the board, the Seahawks grab a young playmaker for their front seven.

Since it was his idea, I'll let Evilgrin make his last pick.

This was fun.

What do you think of how it flowed and who fell?

I'm leaving for a few hours, so if someone decides to do round 3 here's how I see New Orleans (in order of preference)

1. Klopfenstein TE, Colorado

2 Rodrique Wright DT

3 Mercedes Lewis TE

4 Jonathan Lewis DT

With the 58th pick of the 2006 NFL Draft, the Carolina Panthers select:

Maurice Drew

Foster cannot stay healthy, and Drew is short. Goings is nice to have, but not the answer, nor as short as Drew. They have Steve Smith (who is short) and HeHateMe returning punts and kicks. Drew is drafted specifically to take over both jobs, and still be short. He is the NCAA's all-time leader in punt return average and not just for short guys. He was the fastest back at the combine, and he's really short. He has great hands and to go with his shortness. He weighs a beefy 207 and admits he was light so he could run his best 40 while still being short.
Rob Rang minutes ago
The best RB no one seems to be talking about... He's a definite 2nd round pick. If the Colts aren't able to fill their need for a RB, they have Drew ranked pretty high. The Giants and Falcons like him as a potential replacement for Barber, Dunn eventually.

Current mock has him going to Carolina with pick #58, second round.

With the final pick of round 2, the Steelers select Rodrique Wright, DT, Texas

I was strongly considering Deuce here, but he went a few picks sooner. Wright is one of the few DTs in this draft that has the size profile (6' 5" 305 lbs) and quick feet requisite to succeed as a DE in the 3-4. He's strong against the run, and can get to the passer. Viewed as a possible top-10 pick a year ago, he represents huge value at pick 64. The Steelers have now drafted two guys in White and Wright with "questionable motors", but I have confidence that the coaching staff can help each maximize his potential. If they do, the Steelers will have walked off with two guys with top of the first round talent, despite drafting last.

Should I start a 3rd round thread?

I'd like to do it. Of course, since the Vikes get two picks in the round, I may be biased.

The Vikings draft so far:

Round 1- Jay Cutler, QB, Vanderbilt

Round 2 - Charles Spencer, OG, Pitt

Round 2 - Jon Alston, LB, Stanford

That would be awesome if it actually went that way.

I'll do it if all the original drafters are still into it. I don't have time today to draft for 8 teams, but I'd gladly do the Jets, Giants, and Steelers.

I'll put it up and we'll see what happens.

I'll do it even if they aren't. :loco:

We could just keep this thread going.

I started a new one, so I could update it as the picks are made. I still couldn't decipher that trade later in round two that went down, so can someone tell me what those picks should look like in round 3?
