Live Music Broadcast TONIGHT - 11/23/2018 (1 Viewer)

I have American Beauty in all its glory on 180 gram vinyl as do I Workingman's Dead, and I'm supposed to be a punk.

I played for 2 hours and 19 minutes and only repeated the first song of mine.  Not bad for an impromptu 'show'.  Thanks a ton, @rockaction for listening.  Seems like you hung in for over an hour, so you definitely deserve a shout out!

No, you didn't. You played a myriad of songs. I remember the Brohelio song from last time and you played Ripple, too. And Townes.

Who you kidding?

Thanks for playing, man. You had a one-man audience.

Well, thanks again. For real, makes it all worth it.  I added setlist to the YouTube link, so you can skip the banter/tuning and go right to songs. I need to learn to finish songs, lol.

Cool. YouTube is way more accessible than Facebook, by the way. Makes it easier.

I plan on doing another live broadcast Friday (tomorrow) night and I will be upgrading my audio hopefully. I've ordered a few items that will allow me to mic both vocals and guitar so hopefully the audio will be a lot close to pro quality. The playback on my past performances are just not good.  The audio is so tinny and thin and choppy. Should be corrected for tomorrow if you or anyone else is interested.

I will definitely hold a live broadcast (maybe 2) tonight. Below are some songs you can probably expect to hear tonight and my audio should sound MUCH better. I will be mic'd properly and have a couple Amazon deliveries with some additional components to help the sound improve through my Mac.  Headphones or good computer speakers recommended for anyone listening in.

  • Saggy Ankles (me)
  • Love Hurts (Boudreaux Bryant/Everly Brothers, Nazareth version)
  • Rain Song instrumental (Led Zeppelin)
  • That's the Way (Led Zeppelin)
  • 2 First Times (me)
  • Rogelio (me)
  • Darker Side of Rose (me)
  • Reticent Souls (me)
  • Cold, Cold, Heart (Hank Williams)
  • Pancho and Lefty (Townes Van Zandt, Willie and Merle version)
  • Game (me)
  • Lifeboy (Phish)
  • Fluffhead (Phish - not Fluff Travels)
  • Bennie and the Jets instrumental/partial (Elton John)
  • Boybz (me)
  • Dominate the Moon (me)
  • Egghead Revelry (me)
  • Ripple instrumental (Grateful Dead)
  • A Day in the Life (Beatles)
  • Wished You Away (me)
  • Fountain (me)
  • Thoughts Can Change (me)
  • Melissa (Allmän Brothers)
  • Baby Blue Sedan (Modest Mouse)
  • Casey Jones (Grateful Dead)
  • Blackbird (Beatles)
  • Elderly Woman... (Pearl Jam)
  • Into the Mystic (Van Morrison)
  • Fearless (Pink Floyd)

Y'all missed a RAGER last night. I played for nearly 5 and a half hours (5:13 to be exact).  You can watch the entire 5+ hours from the link I posted.

Love it. Benny & The Jets is awesome. And how is Boybz not a huge hit?  Has a little Steely Dan flavor to it.

Interesting you mention Steely Dan.  My friends Jon and Kim who play the music on that are huge Steely Dan fans.  Jon, who plays bass and drums is a phenomenal talent and super detail oriented.  You obviously picked up on that and that's awesome!  Thanks for listening!

Listening to back half tonight. Loving your playing. You ever play out live? You have a unique vocal quality. Ditch the snowball mic, take the mask off, turn up the lights and rock it out. You're a talent, dude.

That's VERY kind of you to say. I really appreciate it. Sincerely, from the bottom of my heart, THANK YOU.

I don't play out anymore. I played in a few bands in my 20s and played as a solo act in Chicago between about 2005-2007 or so.  I haven't played out since then aside from 2 separate one-off gigs.  Most recently, I played at the Bean Blossom Harley Davidson festival near Bloomington, IN back in September.  I do want to get back into it badly. My kids take up a lot of my time. My son is a great athlete so I spend a lot of time honing his basketball and football skills.  I had a drummer friend over Saturday night and we jammed and he seems sincerely interested in getting something going.  The stars seem to be aligning into something, so we'll see.  Hearing words of encouragement and positivity from you and @rockaction definitely go a long way.  Music is my absolute passion which is how I can play for 5+ hours on a live YouTube stream, lol.  But, I'm very lazy so having a full time job and family makes me very unmotivated to put in the grind required of a musician.  Just wish I would have really went for it when I was younger and used to being broke.  But again, thanks!

E2A: I've created an index for about the first 4.5 hours of that YouTube stream. So you can skip the banter and tuning easier.  Still need to finish the last hour.

You can have it all, man. Yeah, you can't put in the hours "required" but you can still pursue your musical passion. I can see you being super hard on yourself in the vid. Trust me, and you know this, you "have it". Just let it flow. You're not tending to the beast every day but so what? Play that ####. Take the mask off. Turn up the lights. DO IT. Your boy's jumper will not suffer.

Much love, Nipsey!
