I read something that said the first person to live to at least 150 is alive today and is probably in their 50s. I'm thinking it's me.Its the same guy, Aubrey De Grey.But he's not alone in pursuing this anymore. Even Google is with their subsidiary, Calico.I don't know if this is the same research the OP was referring to (link is dead now), but the idea surrounding actual immortality is in the news again. He told News.Com.Au: "The therapies that we are working on at the moment are not going to be perfect. These therapies are going to be good enough to take middle age people, say people aged 60, and rejuvenate them thoroughly enough so they won't be biologically 60 again until they are chronologically 90.
I'd say the odds of this happening before I die are looking fairly decent. Better than 50/50.
