LJ's Status (1 Viewer)

I live here in KC and apparently he's been getting around just fine.

Some quick hits I've heard on the radio stations here:

LJ had his birthday party last Sunday while the Chiefs were getting slapped around by Oakland and this rubbed some Chiefs fans the wrong way. They think he should have been at the game...since Priest was.

LJ has been out and about town and is gonna be on Boomer Grigsby's weekly radio show tonight. Apparently, LJ asked to be on the show tonight!

From what I'm hearing he's getting around just fine on his own. I'm hoping he makes an announcement of some sort tonight on Boomer's show either way. Maybe he's playing this weekend...maybe he's out for the rest of the year...give us something LJ!!!

:lmao:

Thanks Warpig. Please update in this thread after the show tonight, and THANK YOU!!!!

According to Herm's terms via the Kansas City Star:

"(Cornerback Patrick) Surtain is sore too, his shoulder, but he’s going to try and go (today). Larry (Johnson) is still rehabbing, and it looks like he’s still going to be out this week.”

I would be shocked if Larry suits up again this year (and no I do not think he has an F'en Lis Franc injury) I just think it will be to hard fro him to run with any effectiveness without more time to heal (see S Alexander trying to run on a cracked metatarsal last year)

there's no reason to rush him back either. OL stinks, playcalling stinks, pass protection stinks, run blocking is "ok"... etc etc oh, and i forgot... team stinks (all coming from a KC homer)

Why play him next year? The team should stink then as well. If he's healthy, they'll play him this year. Of course we don't know how healthy he'll be considering we don't even know what is ailing him.

Bump for radio show!

per Rotoworld...

Larry Johnson (foot) has been ruled out for Week 13, as expected.

Kolby Smith will start against the Chargers' struggling run defense. The Bolts are surrendering 4.2 yards per carry, and have given up eight TDs this year.

I found this tidbit while looking for some news on LJ. It is frustrating how little it really is, but it is enough to keep him on my bench.

"Croyle misses practice with bad back, other Chiefs also hobbled

By Doug Tucker, AP Sports Writer

...A bit of good news was that running back Larry Johnson was feeling better. The Pro Bowler, out since hurting his foot on Nov. 4, "ran around a little bit today," Edwards said. He's still out this week, however."

If he is back week 15 I will be extremely happy. In fact hope they sit him till fantasy playoffs
I'll take what I can get at this point, but I would prefer to see him play a week before putting him back in my lineup. Plus, for a lot of us the playoffs start week 14. Also, week 15 is a tough match-up as long as the Titans have Haynesworth. I don't think I could start LJ if week 15 was his very first game back with that match-up.

Woah, woah, woah, wait a minute. Boomer has a weekly radio show?

Warpig, where fore art thou?
Paging Warpig..I couldn't get the radio show to play for me. O well.
Present and accounted for. I wasn't able to listen to Boomer's show, but I did hear on WHB 610 (radio station here in KC) that LJ was running on the sidelines during practice yesterday! I take this to mean there is no broken bone and no surgery needed! And CERTAINLY NO LIS FRANC!!! He is however ruled out for this weeks game...but may be back by week 14.

I hate the chiefs as a broncos fan, but seriously his is dumb. The browns and packers sucked up it up last year and look at them this year.Parity.

LJ on Boomer Grigsby Show: 11.29.07

Says he's always at the Chiefs facility for meetings and treatment.

Says he has a break in his foot, but was waking and dancing pretty quickly. (At his birthday party)

Thinks the media made it sound worse since the team was being secretive.

Knocking on the media a little. Says they all take shots at him and skew his words & actions.

"I'm stingy.. I don't want to see anybody running the ball if it isn't me .It's not about Koby (Smith)" Referring to a story of him leaving the game early.

"We got caught in the middle of a rebuilding year." " I predicted this kinda swing a long time ago." Regarding being 1 game out of 1st, injuries and KC's struggles.

Gives Herm credit for being a coach who's been in the league before.

On Croyle " I thought he looked good. I like the way he can move."
Nothing to really see. He didn't say a word regarding a comeback this season, just that he's still involved with the team.

Our WW shuts down for the season on Sunday. I am hanging onto him because I don't have any better options. I don't plan on his return.

does this mean fracture or that he "got a break" (i.e. got lucky) and it's healing quickly/well

Chiefs running back Larry Johnson jogged and tested his injured right foot on Wednesday. "He jogged around today on it and came up to me and had a big smile on his face," head coach Herm Edwards tells the team's official web site. "He looked good. So, we'll see where he's at. Now, he didn't participate with the team, but he jogged around." Johnson is out for Week 13, but Edwards did not rule out a return in Week 14. Kolby Smith will start this Sunday.

Larry Johnson (foot) told a local radio station in Kansas City that he believes he could have played in Week 13.

L.J. has already been ruled out against San Diego and will not dress, but coach Herm Edwards says "we'll see" about him possibly facing Denver in Week 14. L.J. ran on the foot Wednesday, but that's a long way from facing contact.

Of course, Alexander last year said he could have played on his cracked foot. How did that turn out?

About as well as the healthy Alexander this year.
