Wilson was benched in favor of rookie Barrett Carter in Sunday's loss to the Packers, Charlie's Chalkboard reports. Wilson still managed four tackles in the snaps he did play.

Wilson struggled, especially in coverage, last week against the Lions, and the Bengals decided to turn to Carter full-time instead. Barring an injury to Carter or fellow rookie Demetrius Knight, this appears to be a full-time change.

Any reason to think Carter won't continue to play a heavy dose of the snaps going forward? Pretty significant positive shift/trend for Carter, in terms of snaps over the past couple of weeks.

Week 4 - Knight 88%, Wilson 80%, Burks 32%, Carter 25%
Week 5 - Wilson 100%, Knight 92%, Carter 53%, Burks 21%
Week 6 - Carter 100%, Knight 92%, Wilson 20% (Burks active but ZERO snaps on defense)

From what I have been reading and seeing he seems to have taken over the starting job so i think he is the guy for the foreseeable future.

Wilson's play has dipped this year, and he has an out in his contract after this season that saves the Bengals about $3.5mil if they move on. Given the Bengals' current situation, it feels like rolling with the rookies makes sense to see what you have and plan accordingly, while they are on their rookie deals. However, it's definitely a situation to continue to keep tabs on.....if only we were allowed in the coach's meetings haha
