Looking for a home stereo system (1 Viewer)

I need a new receiver/blue ray-cd player combo with speakers. Would like blue tooth capable as well.

I have zero clue what a decent priced (sub $500) system to look for.

What are you audiophiles using these days?

If you’re an Apple family, Sonos is a good option.

After thinking about it, I think a Soundbar would work for our new Townhome better

If you are looking for a soundbar, I suggest the Sonos one. The whole Sono environment is awesome and over time we have added speakers to every room in the house.  It's pricey but it's great to be able to add speakers and zones on and still keep all our music options in the same app/controls. We can stream different channels and services to each speaker individually.

Random question and I'm going to piggy back this thread.

I have 2 pretty good speakers connected to my TV.  If I added a sound bar would that improve my sound system or not have much effect?
