David thanks for responding; there is good information here, but I don't see the specifics I am referring too? (please set me straight if I am missing something)I am wondering if teams who run on 1st down from the "6" are more or less likely to score a TD. Obviously there are so many factors, but this question came up regarding whether the Patriots should have run the ball in the SB when they were 1st and goal from the 6 with 2:55 to go. One side stated that NE needed to take time off the clock and a run could have been effective. The other side said, you call whatever plays are the best ones to get you a TD and don't worry about time unless the plays are equal in terms of chance and in that case you run the clock.
