Our experience with ESPN AUCTION DRAFT SOFTWARE.
Our league used FA.com the last few years and worked great until last year when they had all kinds of problems, similar to those described in other posts.
This prompted me to find a new site this yr and the only one I found was ESPN. The mock drafts worked great a few days ago and I had some buddies that did draft over the weekend with out any problems.
Unfortunately, my league attempted to draft tonight on ESPN at 7pm EST. The draft was sluggish from the get go, then just got worse. We were able to bid but the timer would run all the way down to zero and you bid would not register for 10-30 seconds. Extremely frustrating. We eventually had to stop when we only got through 9 players in the first hour. It appears that their servers got completely slammed by the extra traffic. We'll see if they can address the issues.
On the bright side, I really thought the software was great - Commish can pause, rollback erroneous picks, change draft values, etc. It was really nice that the pause feature was instant unlike Fantasy auctioneer. But none of this matters, if they don't have the server capacity needed. I figuerd "the worldwide leader in sports" would be better prepared for peak loads.
ANYONE HAVE ANY OTHER SUGGESTIONS? OTHER SITES TO USE?
Good luck to all.
