Looks like another major news anchor is going down (1 Viewer)

Jesus christ,

That's quite an explanation - misremembering. Like he's talking about what color socks he wore on Monday.
Liberals misremember a lot. It's their euphemism for "got busted lying like a SOB".
lol. Love people who can't look at anything without forcing it through their political filter first. I hope your party takes over and fixes everything!
Considering that everything the mainstream media puts out goes through their own political filter via their deeply incestuous relationship with the Democrat Party, why shouldn't any conscientious member of the American public do the same?
Benghazi? Seriously?

Very little difference between this conduct and the shameful cases of "stolen valor" that pop up from time to time with folks pretending they are ex-military. He blatantly lied about a military experience to enhance his professional and social standing.

Again, hopefully the "correct" party will take over and fix everything the "wrong" part has screwed up. I look forward to this day.

It's such a blatant lie and blatant attempt at making himself seem more heroic, Does he go down for this?

Brian Williams' job is to read the state's press releases to the sheeple (at least those who still watch national news).

Why would anyone be surprised -- let alone upset -- that he lied about something?

More like his ratings going up.

I was out there with Geraldo in Afghanistan, he's the biggest piece of crap I ever met. Took off into the Afghan wilderness with no security team and the 10th Mountain Division had to scoop him up wasting like 100 guys who could have been killing the enemies of America. Williams lied, Geraldo put lives in danger. Never hear about that story though. He lied about being in a firefight in Kandahar on the same trip, that ####### made a deal with the devil. On par with those Al-Qaeda ####ers IMO.

Now Ted Kopel, now that guy was someone you could count on.
Tim Johnson was fired as manager of the Blue Jays for fabricating war stories. Johnsons story was basically to inspire a 25 man baseball team on how to battle when things got tough. Williams has spewed his garbage and lies all over the nation and on talk shows. Showed be let go immediately.

Benghazi is not the point. The tangled web of business and personal relationships between high level Democrats and the media is. Need I remind everyone that this is the same network which altered the Zimmerman 911 tapes and falsified the results of a consumer investigation in order to advance a chosen narrative?

So Williams arrived 30-60 mintues after the helicopter(he was not in)that was shot at landed?

Lance Reynolds, the flight engineer on the Chinook that was hit, told Stars and Stripes: “It was something personal for us that was kind of life-changing for me. I know how lucky I was to survive it. It felt like a personal experience that someone else wanted to participate in and didn’t deserve to participate in.”

Reynolds told the newspaper that Williams and the NBC cameramen arrived in a helicopter 30 to 60 minutes after his damaged Chinook made a rolling landing at an Iraqi airfield and skidded off the runway into the desert.

Why not just say he was in the area instead of making up this terrible lie?Did he not think anyone would say something?

I think he did actually say that early on but his story evolved into something that made him much more valorous.

Brian Williams' job is to read the state's press releases to the sheeple (at least those who still watch national news).

Why would anyone be surprised -- let alone upset -- that he lied about something?
You know, this is one time that your shtick somewhat fits to a topic. Not by much, but we can work on refining it later on.

It's not schtick, it's a fact.

Most people can't handle the naked truth, but that doesn't mean I won't drop in from time to time to put it out there.

My pressure.

"What folly is this, toasting an independent press? There is no such thing, at this date of the World's history, in America, as an independent press. You know it and I know it. There is not one of you who dares to write your honest opinions, and if you did, you know beforehand that it would never appear in print.

I am paid weekly for keeping my honest opinion out of the paper I am connected with. Others of you are paid similar salaries for similar things, and any of you who would be so foolish as to write honest opinions would be out on the streets looking for another job. If I allowed my honest opinions to appear in one issue of my paper, before twenty-four hours my occupation would be gone.

The business of the journalists is to destroy the truth, to lie outright, to pervert, to vilify, to fawn at the feet of Mammon , and to sell his country and his race for his daily bread. You know it and I know it, and what folly is this toasting an independent press?

We are the tools and vassals of "rich men" behind the scenes. We are the jumping jacks, they pull the strings and we dance. Our talents, our possibilities and our lives are all the property of other men. We are intellectual prostitutes."

~ John Swinton New York journalist at a banquet (1880's)
Same as it ever was.

PRO TIP: You invalidate the reasonableness of your argument by making ad hominem attacks (e.g., "sheeple") HTH

This.

Typical of the "me me me" press (and society in general?) and always wanting to make themselves a part of the story.

I'm a fan, but this is a tough one to gloss over. I want to see how Jon Stewart handles this.

It is indeed helpful! Thanks for the tip. I especially appreciate PRO TIPs.

Sheeple is slang for "statist." I don't consider it an ad hominem attack.

I like Brian Williams regardless of what he said. People make mistakes, get over it.
This figures. JohnnyU loses his mind, posts hundreds of times in a thread calling for a coach's head over unproven allegations of involvement in a ball being slightly under-inflated.... but then tell's people to "get over" a news anchor lying repeatedly and brazenly to the public for over a decade about his involvement in a dramatic war event.

Well, he likes Brian Williams. :welcome:

On a side note, this show needs to come back. Still watch it from time to time, always :lmao: .
I loved that show. Public shaming done wonderful. A lot of people got upset when the dude killed himself when Hansen showed up to his house. I, on the other hand, feel like Hansen should have been given a medal for that.

How long do you think it will be until we read a story about Hansen being busted for soliciting underage boys?

Peeing on your shoes is a mistake.

Telling a lie for ten years is not a mistake. It's lying

I don't think we should believe anything that is written by mainstream media.

I'm curious too since it seems like Stewart personally likes Williams despite the joking. I suspect he still goes after him. After all, wasn't Stewart college roommates with Anthony Weiner?

The only people dropping the sheeple label are conspiracy theorists...or extreme libertarians.
