The reason isnt singular.
He is older.
He did injure his knee and have knee surgery 7 months ago.
He was a high paid player at his position.
It was NEVER because he wasnt one of the best lead blocking FBs.
Current AllPro and Pro Bowler from '07.
He requested his own release from SD.
He is not a run/rec threat type of FB.

SD phased him out and let him go, Neal didn't want to go. He's pretty much done.
