Lovie Smith Contract (1 Viewer)

Has anyone heard any rumblings about Lovie resigning with the Bears.

I know I heard a peep or two about it before the Seahawks game, but its been silent since then.

What scares me is now that Parcells has retired, the Texan native might want to go home.

Title changed to him having one year left after this. I was wrong about him being a FA after this season

Who cares if Lovie Smith is the lowest paid head coach?

When he signed, he wasn't.

That was three years ago.

He's got one year left on his deal, and he's very loyal to the Bears.

He'll get an extension after this season for sure.

...or Dallas could come sniffing around to ask about him, as Dallas was his favorite team as a boy, and he grew up in Sandy, TX.

A couple of first rounders and Dallas can have him.

He asked for a new contract in the offseason and they low balled him. I bet they are regretting that now. He's going to command huge $$$. If he doesn't get it he might "retire" like Bill Cowher for a year....

No he won't.His agent intimated that he was underpaid. Angelo got burned before when he extended **** Jauron after one winning season. This thread is stupid. Lovie will get paid after the season, and Jerry Angelo will get a contract extension as well.I'm more worried about D-Coordinator Ron Rivera who has no contract after the Super Bowl, nor does Special Teams Coach Dave Toub, or the two guys in charge of player personnel, Bobby DePaul or Greg Gabriel. They can go wherever they wish the day after the Super Bowl.

Yes, the Bears have been complete dolts about the coaching staff. The only thing keeping these guys here is the fact that they've been past the first round of the playoffs 2 years now.

As for Jauron, how do you fire the coach of the year? Angelo had no choice. With this current regime he did have one and it will probably cost them a lot more.

And Lovie was the lowest paid head coach when he started as well. Redskins d coordinator makes almost twice as much as Lovie.

There is no 'salary cap' for coaching and scouting staffs. The Bears are amongst the cheapest when it comes to this.

The best thing that happened to the Chicago Bears is the salary cap for players. Otherwise they'd be a bottom feeder cheap @rse organization.

The Bears would have been sold at some point. I'm sure of it. It saved the McCaskeys owning the Bears.

BTW what was Mike Mc doing on the field? He was the sole jackass responsible for 10 years of misery.

If he wasn't around to escort Virginia down there we might all still be waiting for the presentation of the Halas Trophy.

Both sides agreed to table the contract talks until after the playoffs so as to not be a distraction.Yet, the fans still wonder.

I get this question almost every time I'm on the radio in Bears country.

Well, funny thing is that people were criticizing the guy for standing behind Grossman and said that if the team went one and done his job should be in jeapordy. Now he's in the Superbowl and you hear that they were dumb for handling it that way. Just can't win, hehe...
