This happens every year. Expectations are dashed and exceeded. Is it a blip, or a hint of what is to come. Where do we stand with these guys?

LT: He looks completely healthy, running hard. He is playing "with a chip on his shoulder". Greene owners say he will wear down and Greene is too good he will be the guy soon. So what is the truth? I am betting on LT. 1100yds and 8 TDs

McFadden: He is on fire. This is what everyone was looking for last year. I have seen a lot of sell on him and that is a great idea but barring injury he looks like a RB1 this year.

MJD: A victim of a really bad team. I don't know if a new QB will help, at least one on the roster now. He should improve slightly. But my gut says get rid of him.

Rice: Another major disappointment. But it seems it is injury related and he should pick it up soon.

McCoy: I don't get this one. FBGs have him ranked as 8th best RB. He has shown nothing except against Detroit. is carries per game are low. Looking at last year stats he was merely serviceable. He has a couple of games with a combined 100yds but never rushed for 100. I didn't see him play. Maybe he has big play potential. But 8th best?? Vick , I believe will hamper his production...a lot. Overrated?

Wells: He came back after surgery not in football shape and has a relatively good game. Excitement is starting to build. Will he be the guy everyone was looking for last year? The team has issues but they are not the Jaguars so if he can stay healthy he could be a 1000yd rusher this year.

So will any of these guys finish in the top ten? I think McFadden, Rice and maybe LT

I really don't see why people are so down on Rice. He's had some odd games, and faced a tough defense. He'll get his. He's been underperforming, yes, but I think it'll smooth out by year's end.

LT looks much better than most expected, but top 10? I seriously doubt it. He'd have to have a serious increase in touches for that to happen.

LT - Could fade out at anytime. Personally I think he's got at least this year in him. Maybe sharing the backfield will extend his career. I think LT will have a slow decline in numbers rather than a quick dropoff.

McFadden - The talent is there for sure. However, if you could trade him for a RB with a history of production, it might be a good move. Of course, McFadden could maintain this production, in which case, hes probably in the AP/CJ group of RBs.

MJD - Ugh. If you can get preseason value for him, trade him. Otherwise, I would stick with him. He's bound to go off in some games right? He's too talented.

McCoy - I see talent limited by the offensive style of the team. He will have his big days, and then his mediocre days. But I do see the talent there to warrant holding him. Think he is going to be a boom or bust RB on that team.

Wells - He could be a 1000 yd rusher, but his injuries would scare me off. At this point in his career I've seen too many negatives in terms of health to rank him as high as his talent would dictate.

I just looked at 2009. 1100 yds and 8 TDs puts him about 14 so I will amend to top 15 finish to be where I think he finishes assuming he stays healthy. Which I think he will. 15cpg and 75ypg will get him 1100 yds and a light workload.

I agree with you in standard scoring, but I am hesitant in agreeing in ppr scoring. I think those that had Rice as top three in ppr leagues were expecting him to once again be a huge part of the passing game, and that is looking unlikely this season. Last season Rice had nine games with five or more catches, with four of those being seven or more catches. With the acquisition of Boldin, and a reemergence of Heap, those receptions will be way lower than last season, and knocks Rice out of top ten contention in ppr leagues.

McFadden looks like the game has slown down for him, everyone knew he had the talent just couldnt get it going.

McCoy was one of my pre-season PPR grabs guys good

I have 3 of these backs so I felt I should chime in.

McFadden - drafted as a late round pick, you have no choice but to ride him until he proves otherwise. He start has been great, and I see no reason why he can not finish top 15. With that said, if you can get some good value in a trade. Too many ??? with Bush coming back, how will the team continue to play...etc

Wells - The ultimate tease. He had a solid game last week, but is always dinged up (this goes back to college as well). If he stays on the field he could be huge. That's a big if.

MJD - As others of said his team is bad, BUT, there have been other bad teams in the past that rode their bell cow to successful seasons. I think if JDR had half a brain he would start giving his bell cow 25+ carries.

I think this can and will go both ways. As McCoy said last week, Vick will help him running by the away LB's have to account for Vick, but I also expect less receptions than had Kolb remained the starter.

Also, nit picking, but McCoy ran for over 100 against the Lions that game, so he has done it once.

LT: He looks completely healthy, running hard. He is playing "with a chip on his shoulder". Greene owners say he will wear down and Greene is too good he will be the guy soon. So what is the truth? I am betting on LT. 1100yds and 8 TDs-I agree with this in general, however, I think you are under on TDs and over on yards unless you mean Total Yards from Scrimmage. A coach on a playoff push is going to rely heavily on healthy veterans in the red zone no matter what.McFadden: He is on fire. This is what everyone was looking for last year. I have seen a lot of sell on him and that is a great idea but barring injury he looks like a RB1 this year.-Unfortunately, there is no "barring injury" for this or any other Raiders player. They don't have the culture of hard work that keeps feature backs healthy throughout a season.MJD: A victim of a really bad team. I don't know if a new QB will help, at least one on the roster now. He should improve slightly. But my gut says get rid of him. -The Jags are bad now, but he plays only 3 decent run D's the rest of the season. their defense should improve and keep them in more games as the season unfolds.Rice: Another major disappointment. But it seems it is injury related and he should pick it up soon. -Again, wait for some better match-ups. he'll be there rockin' at the end when it really counts and the Ravens are trying to catch the Steelers in the division.McCoy: I don't get this one. FBGs have him ranked as 8th best RB. He has shown nothing except against Detroit. is carries per game are low. Looking at last year stats he was merely serviceable. Overrated?-This take really scares me. Perhaps if Eagle's opponents began to focus on Vick right away, we'll see better production, but it's unlikely that he'll be top 10.Wells: He came back after surgery not in football shape and has a relatively good game. Excitement is starting to build. Will he be the guy everyone was looking for last year? The team has issues but they are not the Jaguars so if he can stay healthy he could be a 1000yd rusher this year.-Agreed. Football Coach likes to run the ball. he's got to keep it secure though or he'll be benched. So will any of these guys finish in the top ten? I think McFadden, Rice and maybe LT-My end of season top ten RBs: A.Peterson, C.Johnson, F.Gore, A.Foster, M.Turner, R.Rice, MJD, L.Tom, P.Thomas, R.Mendenhall
please forgive me if i did this quotes thing wrong.J

Hence why he's having a below par season. Lol.

I agree. I am not in any ppr leagues but I was expecting a larger percentage of his work to be in the passing game. But Boldon is the only game right now so I still think there is room for Rice to get his once healthy

Wells is a guy who is flying under the radar right now that could win a league for some people. I was not on the Beanie bandwagon out of college, but after watching him run in the NFL he STILL looks like a man amongst boys. He seriously looks bigger and faster than just about anyone on the field, and has great footwork. Arizona is run blocking well and has a good schedule. I mean he got 14 carries his first week back after knee surgery, so I don't think it's a stretch to antiicipate seeing him with a lot of 20+ carry days in his future. Obviously the caveat is his health, but I think it's a gamble worth taking if you are looking for a possible homerun.
