Kinda sounds like the ol' poker theory...Not sure long-term luck really applies in redraft leagues though.... in my league's 14 years of existence, the guy who buys his fantasy mag on the way to the draft has won the league twice and been to 4 title games. I'd consider myself one of the more "sharp", informed owners, and I've only won it once, and that was 11 years ago.

Luck plays into each game but having a team that scores a lot of fantasy points over time is a much smaller percentage. It doesn't mean you win your league just that you field a consistently competitive team.

Finishing in 1st place during the "fantasy regular season" is a far better reflection of skill then winning the "fantasy playoffs".

Yes, a much better poll question would be: "How big of a role does luck play in winning a fantasy title?" I've played since 1995. Always among the point and win leader in my league. Currently hold the total points and wins lead in the dynasty league I've played in since 1999. Been to the title game four times. Lost the title game four times, usually to inferior teams.

Even worse here. Went undefeated thru the entire year with a huge point lead as well. Lost both playoff games and finished 4th. We pay out 1st, 2nd, and 3rd.

*shakes head* That's just wrong. Any team that goes to the playoffs deserves to at least get their entry fee back.
