Lynch's NFL market improving (1 Viewer)

I would think that Buffalo is in the driver's seat in it's asking price for Lynch with GBP, NEP & now NOS in dire need of RB help and all 3 Super Bowl contenders - I would think all 3 teams are legitimately looking @ possible trade scenarios.

Another one I thought might be of interest... I wonder if CAR would move DeAngelo Williams? I believe he's an UFA @ the end of the season. They don't look to be too competetive... it would open the door for J.Stewart as the #1 & they've got a decent change-of-pace RB in Goodson. My guess is they'd want @ least a #2 in return I don't think they could get a #1 for him since he's only under contract for this year & would require the acquiring team to re-sign him.

Question:

- What is the word on Lynch's "character"?

>> I only ask this because while I would LOVE to see a guy of Lynch's talent come in as a terrific RB3 in the Bell role for the Saints, the team under Loomis & Payton have steered well clear of guys who don't get with the locker room program.

lynch is a clear cut starter in this league if he wants itbad enough. too bad hes shown that he likes speeding and carrying around guns more (so far)

Saints signed Ladell Betts today.
Yeah I was thinking "why would NO want a starting caliber RB?" when they already have Pierre T. Betts will make a competent backup.
They're not signing Lynch; so it's a side issue.BUT, the Saints also cut Wynn and Ivory is not due to practice for another couple weeks. So IF that's true, I would like to know if the Saints are really sticking with 2 HB's until Ivory is ready or if they have someone else (PJ Hill?) in mind.

I remember a couple of years ago listening to Vince Wilfork on one of the Boston sports radio programs. The hosts asked him to name the top 5 running backs in the NFL and he listed Marshawn Lynch as one of them. He said that Lynch was a beast and that he gave their defense alot of problems. I wouldnt be at all surprised to see New England make an honest effort to get him.

He's got some baggage, but I would think that he'd be on his best behavior for the first year or so.

It isn't like Bill Belichick is afraid of guys w/ baggage.

chan gailey will beg to differ
hmmm, wonder why he gave Lynch 17 carries in his 2nd game as head coach. seems like an odd thing to do with a player you dont envison as a starter especially when you just drafted a rb in the first round and also have jackson.

I find it highly unlikely Buffalo would trade their 24 year old running back to a team in the same division.

This may not have been the coach's call.if the GM wants to trade Lynch, and if he thinks he can get more interest by playing him, then he's gonna do it in the hopes he can cause a bidding war for him.given that Buffalo is not the strongest team at this time, this may be the prudent course of action.maybe they can get an O-Lineman or a draft pick to help with the rebuild.

i agree. My point is that he's starting caliber in the NFL if he wants to be and works hard.

I'd love a startable OT and a 3rd round pick. Too much?

ya, probably. Lynch has a fair bit of baggage and he is one arrest from being suspended a very long time.If the guy had no off field issues, this may be a reasonable expectation. but the off field issues lower his value a fair bit IMO.
