mediocreThought this was a good action flick. Some of the visuals were awesome and would have been even better had I seen them in a theater. That said, I guess had unreasonably high expectations given the hype this had been getting. It was a solid action movie, nothing more IMO.
Wikipedia.Yeah, it was the paraplegic mechanic guy - "be a shame to blow it up." Thing is, how could anyone know a thing like that for sure, particularly in that world? In The Road Warrior there's a line about Max's car being "the last of the V8 Interceptors."Or he somehow found another one.Another sign that if this was intended to be the same character and a timeline was necessary it would fit between the first film and Road WarriorAh thanks. Not really either... Miller said it was made to "stand on it's own" but said if you put a gun to his head it would come after Thunderdome.
It's confusing because Max's V8 Interceptor was destroyed in Road Warrior and it's back in Fury Road.![]()

You may not always know what is CG in a movie.Or it's because CGI generally makes movies look like dog ####.Usually true. I do that for movies like Fast and Furious, or XXX, or Riddick. Basically anything with Vin diesel. This was a really good action movie. I think people go over board on practical effects these days because of the trendy hatred of CGI. It's like the disco backlash for the movie industry. And, for the record, whenever I hear "this is one of those movies where you just have to turn your brain off and enjoy it"
I translate it as
"this movie is pretty much a piece of #### or mediocre at best"
That and some of the other of their videos were great- thanks for the link. They bring up some good points- grumps like me probably like movies that have more cg than we think, and as we've been saying, action without development of characters or ones we give a crap about is bad.You may not always know what is CG in a movie.https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=bL6hp8BKB24Or it's because CGI generally makes movies look like dog ####.Usually true. I want to see the prequel that shows the character development for the guitar player. What life events led to him wearing red, why that particular choice of music, what happened to his eyes......all that super important stuff that I simply have to have to be able to enjoy Fury Road.
Coma-Doof Warrior (also known as The Doof Warrior) is a blind guitarist who was part of Immortan Joe's militia, riding and playing upon the Doof Wagon.
He was a child musical prodigy brought up in a happy environment by his mother, who was a musician herself. Then Coma and his mother were attacked. His mother was dragged away and days later someone dropped her head in Coma's lap. Immortan Joe found Coma clinging to the head of his mother. Joe took him in. There are two different stories about the origin of his mask. The first story notes that Coma made a mask from his mother's face, which he sliced from her skull himself.[1] The second story differs, claiming that Immortan Joe made the mask for him, a battle singer, to "Enact Joe's revenge on the world with his mother's screaming face on."[2]
The Doof Warrior is a member of Immortan Joe's War Boys and head of the War Boy band. His name derives from Australian slang for techno rave parties, dubbed "doof parties" for their repetitive 4/4 beats.
He is missing both of his eyeballs, and his skin is pale and teeth are deformed. He wears a mask over his head made of his mother's face. His role is to both relay Immortan Joe's orders to everyone through sound and encourage the armada to go into battle. Despite the chaotic surroundings of battle, The Doof Warrior does not cease playing his guitar.

Of course. Same way here with action movies. Wife just can't stand them.Played on basic cable tonight. Flipped it on with my 10 year old when Max fights Furiosa. Wife turned it off in under 60 seconds. Buzzkill.
