Manti Te'o's girlfriend who died... (2 Viewers)

How is Rud's scam to take Bigboy's money coming along?
I wasn't the one making guarantees in here.
I don't know whether to applaud you for taking a stand against people who make "guarantees" about future events or excoriate you for putting a chill on having a simple opinion that differs from yours.
differing opinions are great.but if you start guaranteeing things, you should be willing to back it up with something more substantial than a "sig bet"
I don't know, it's an anonymous message board (for most people) and not everyone gambles.
that's fine.maybe people who don't gamble shouldn't tell people to name whatever odds they want though.

He did kind of say he would take "Any odds". I actually thought Rud was being rather generous only going 2:1 odds. His mouth (keyboard) wrote a check that he simply was not willing to cash.

True. Maybe some don't take a message board as serious as others either.

Oh snap, the text is getting tough around here :lmao: :lmao:

Simply stating the truth is not "getting tough". You wanted a bet at any odds. When someone who actually has a known name offered you rather simple odds for a rather low stake, you slunk away. :hophead:

If you ask me, some of it is getting kind of weak.

Lord knows we've had enough of that here and I've been annoyed by it as much as anyone. But this seemed an odd time, place and person to light up. I just don't want this to become a place where you can't have a conversation without having to watch every little turn of phrase without being challenged to some kind of bet. That seems a little juvenile and unfriendly.

If slunk away means didnt think people were serious about actually betting through a message board then yes, you are correct.FWIW, half the stuff I read in the FFA I "lol" at and about 90% of it I dont take serious. You know when someone says "I'd kill a person if they did that!"? Think along those lines with the odds comment I made.

:) no problem. I am done on the subject as well. It amused me quite a bit though, and I am sure I am not the only one judging from the posts in here.

This (the message board) is life to some people, they're bound to take it way more serious then most. People are here to "win"....

Certainly hope it is not me you are referring to. I was simply quite amused by the exchange last night, and didn't want it to get lost in the pages. Anywho, I don't know you, and certainly could not care any less about the whole thing. It wasn't MY bet, after all. :)

Hard to see where this goes now. No crime, I don't think Notre Dame will ever speak of it again, and Te'o will likely shut up and skip all public events until the draft.

let's get back to Teo talk.
It's seems Te'o is taking the Ignore Strategy. Is he just going to remain silent and let all of this blow over? It will go away on its own at some point.
I think he's taking the "I might as well make money off this and carefully manage the terms of my first appearance" strategy. I can't imagine he'll just wait around until it blows over, because even though it'll eventually move off the front page, it'll dominate his life until he says something publicly.

Ok and how do we go about paying etc? I'm not tracking anoyone down and I dont care enough ot be on here harrassing you.

I win you use a SIG I create and if I lose you do the same, deal?
I've worked at this website for nearly 10 years. This is my real name. Where am I going to go?We're not 10 years old. A sig bet is meaningless and certainly not a good way to back up your "guarantee".
This is going around and around. Your name is meaningless unless I end up in Chicago in need of $50, seriously. We have time before the draft...be creative.
Sooo...any bigboy sighting?I have an idea, Rud...why don't you bet him the $50 if he wins, and if you win, you get to delete his account on here.

But he's not backpeddling at all!
OK, for the love of God, enough with this ! I can't take this anymore !!!It's backpedaling.
Ma' Bad, dude. :excited: It was early in the morning...so sue me. I even saw the auto-correct was lit up, and just didn't even click on it.
I wasn't singling you out, I think Deeples and Bigboy also spelled it the same way. After the third or fourth time, I just couldn't let it go anymore. Blame it on my being raised by a schoolteacher.

As seriously as others....Yes, I am annoying, I know.

He's not going to get drafted by a given team unless he makes a full explanation of what happened. Somehow I think NFL teams will do a much more thorough and unbiased "investigation" into the matter.

Ronaiah Tuiasosopo once auditioned for "The Voice"
"He had this insane sob story before [he sang]," an insider reveals to Us. "It would make for great TV."According to the source, Tuiasosopo told producers he and his cousins started a Christian band together and were on their way to perform at a youth conference in Nevada when they got into a "massive" car accident. He claimed a truck crashed into their vehicle, sending them flip-flopping all over the freeway. He also said doctors thought one of them might have been brain-dead, but miraculously, everyone was fine.

Yup. And we won't hear a thing about it. I can easily see this never being addressed publicly.

The sad thing is, I know the correct spelling and all (backpedaling, as in pedaling backwards, as opposed to peddling goods backwards!), but still managed to #### it up. Although pedaling still looks wrong to me without the 2nd "l", even though I know it is correct. Stupid damn English language. :lmao:

I thought about that, but I didn't really know what Te'o's supposed girlfriend looked like, only that she died. I'm sure lot's of college football fans were the same way. Even if someone knew her and knew of the story, they probably didn't know her pictures were being used.

Magic Johnson on Twitter just last night:

Earvin Magic Johnson ‏@MagicJohnsonWhat's up with this Manti Te'o hoax?
Love the first two responses. My link
FanSince09 ‏@FanSince09.@MagicJohnson She's about as real as you actually having The Bug is. #YouShouldntBeAlive:lmao:
:goodposting:
Why is that good posting? And why does that person think Magic shouldn't be alive? Plenty of people are living long with HIV, and he was one of the first people to get in on the drugs that are allowing people to do that. That's a pretty ##### thing to say.

Kind of a side note here... but it amuses me that Deadspin (attacked for years by newspapers and crotchety writers for not being beholden to journalistic standards) knows who she is, but keeps her name private because she was an innocent bystander. Meanwhile, a couple of newspapers (the New York Post and Daily Mail) both out her name to sell a few more copies or generate a few more hits.

Sorry about that Kareem.People have been making jokes about Magic not having teh AIDS for years. You think he really wants Magic or someone with HIV to die? Its a joke, no?
