The sad thing is, I know the correct spelling and all (backpedaling, as in pedaling backwards, as opposed to peddling goods backwards!), but still managed to #### it up. I thought about that, but I didn't really know what Te'o's supposed girlfriend looked like, only that she died. I'm sure lot's of college football fans were the same way. Even if someone knew her and knew of the story, they probably didn't know her pictures were being used.

Kind of a side note here... but it amuses me that Deadspin (attacked for years by newspapers and crotchety writers for not being beholden to journalistic standards) knows who she is, but keeps her name private because she was an innocent bystander.
