Bulger has killed my fantasy team the last two years with his ill-timed injuries, yet I don't sense the disdain for him that is expressed for the likes of Fred Taylor, DeShaun Foster, etc.
My question: where's the hate for this putz?
The difference is Bulger is MUCH more productive that Fragile Freddy, or DeShaun Foster. Bulger plays on a team with a bad defense which will force him to throw the ball. He also happens to play in a weak pass defense division. He's got some solid WR's in Holt, Bruce, and Curtis. When he's not hurt, he's actually a descent QB.Main point being, QB's don't take the beating that RB's do. I'd bet on Bulger being healthy for a full season than Fragile Freddy and Foster.Bulger has killed my fantasy team the last two years with his ill-timed injuries, yet I don't sense the disdain for him that is expressed for the likes of Fred Taylor, DeShaun Foster, etc.My question: where's the hate for this putz?
I'm sure he does it just to piss you off.Bottom line: whenever I need him most, I see him laying on the turf halfway through the first quarter, clutching his shoulder and writhing in pain . . .
Apparantly. Linehan loves him. Calls him one of the two most accurate QB's hes ever seen.Me thinks Bulger is on the hot seat (his short and long-term future in STL) with Linehan running the show now.
Yup. Bulger's pretty damn good. If you draft a strong backup you'll be set. Start Bulger when he's healthy, then plug in the strong QB2 if/when Bulger gets hurt and you don't miss a beat.Theres no hate because when hes healthy hes a top 3 QB. Ive had him in the past and I find it hard to root against the guy because hes so damn productive when healthy.
And this is where the strong backup comes into play. Chances are Bulger's strong production was one of the reasons why his owner made the playoffs in the first place.Bulger's last two fantasy playoffs:2004Week 13: 3-22-0Week 14: 0-0-0Week 15: 0-0-0Week 16: 20-225-12005Week 13: 0-0-0Week 14: 0-0-0Week 15: 0-0-0Week 16: 0-0-0Nice . . .

I agree that you need to have a solid backup. But that doesn't really have anything to do with the original point, which is that you can't count on Bulger any more than you can count on Fred Taylor, DeShaun Foster, etc.And this is where the strong backup comes into play. ding ding ding - we have a winner!Expect Kitna to get killed in Detroit...Bulger when healthy is as money as it gets. He's no Peyton when it comes to durability, so you definitely have to draft a strong backup as mentioned. But if you do, you're pretty well set at the position, and can expect some monster games.ALso, Martz ran a lot of empty backfield and spread formations - not exactly max-protection schemes. Bulger took lots of hits after release. Linehan will be keeping the TE in for blocking and not running nearly as many 4- & 5-WR sets. Should translate into fewer hits on the QB.
i have him backing up bulgerExpect Kitna to get killed in Detroit...
I'd say his history of performance is MUCH higher than Foster's; maybe about the same as Taylor's. But I think most people know that if you draft Bulger you need to have a strong backup in place. I would never draft him under the belief that he'll play the full season which is the same approach I'd have with Foster or Taylor.I agree that you need to have a solid backup. Yikes. That's like backing up DeShaun Foster with Najeh Davenport.i have him backing up bulgerExpect Kitna to get killed in Detroit...![]()
OR:Foster, with Taylor as back up and Davenport in the holeYikes. That's like backing up DeShaun Foster with Najeh Davenport.i have him backing up bulgerExpect Kitna to get killed in Detroit...![]()
Funny thing is so do I! But only because the draft fell that way. I know I need to do something over the next few weeks, or it's Dead Man Walkin' with these two..i have him backing up bulgerExpect Kitna to get killed in Detroit...![]()

Martz is gone man. The new coach will protect his QB instead of sending the entire team out for a pass.Bulger has killed my fantasy team the last two years with his ill-timed injuries, yet I don't sense the disdain for him that is expressed for the likes of Fred Taylor, DeShaun Foster, etc.My question: where's the hate for this putz?
