ok, I'll defend him here. guy is at a party, has too much to drink, bums a ride from someone. Gets pulled over -
Officer: who does this cocaine belong to?
MThomas: I swear to gawd, it's not mine.
driver: uhh, yeah...it's not mine either.
officer: ok, you're both under arrest.
Is this really a low character issue? The man tested clean (according to the Denver post story anyways), and has repeatedly tested clean. He got into trouble with pot in college, but as far as we know is not in the NFL substance abuse program.
I'm all for waiting for the story to come out before we assume the worst. If there is nothing more to this issue than what is out already, then I think cutting the guy some slack is in order.
Let me also ask this - how many of your friends have coke hidden in their car that you don't know about?
answer - you have no idea.
I don't know about you......
but I'm not so naive to know that everyone knows the kind of guys they roll with. If I'm hanging out with guys throughout the night, then I pretty much know everything they're into.......so don't come with that lame excuse, he knew the type of cat he was rolling with......if you don't, then catch a cab.Like a wise man once said.....
"Nothing good happens after 2:00am"......
I'd wager that people you know have things about themselves that they would rather you not know. Everyone has secrets. You probably have secrets too. Also, i don't understand the bolded above. can you translate please?
Just that....If you can't understand that one, I don't know what else to say, my man. But I'll try. If you've had life experience and have been out and about during the late-night hours with friends, then you're pretty much hanging with guys you are very familiar with and have some things in common with. I know one thing....if I've got a multi-million dollar career going for me, I'm not going to trust it with either
a) some unknown associate I met at a party, let me repeat one thing, a PARTY.....where typically, alcohol, drugs, and who knows what else, are likely to be involved. This wasn't a bible study my friend; nor
b) any so-called friend who is into carrying around drugs, illegal weapons, or worse, BOTH, in the car with them. I'm not buying this crap about not knowing what your friends are into. Gimme a break. Anyone from the 'streets', and he is from Florida hoods, yes?..... knows very well that you better keep a very close-knit circle around you once you achieve a certain level of success.....and you know everything that's going on in that circle, so pleading ignorance after the fact is just not gonna cut it....at least not by me.
Bottom line, just stop with the excuses, this was an extremely poor decision on both Thomas' fault AND the Broncos' fault for drafting the guy in the 1st place, no matter the outcome of this incident. If this is the type of decisions this guy is going to be making considering his already checkered past, then keep burying your heads in the sand and continue saying that nothing is wrong....
Some notable, and most notably, RECENT, Denver players with 'upstanding' character
T.Henry....3-time offender (yes, I'm counting his last transgression) of the NFL drug policy, 2-3 shy of a dozen out-of-wedlock children...love to have this guy move in to my neighborhood, we need more marijuana abusing, philandering, immature high-profile men around town
M.Clarett.....Stick-up kid armed heavier than Al-Qaeda......Where was this guy when Ollie North needed a right-hand man to broker some of those Arms deals?
M.Thomas....If Florida U kicked this guy off the team, then all I can say is, WOW!
T.Sauerbrun.....Signed AFTER testing positive for steroids and getting suspended by the NFL......were u really that hard-up for a PUNTER??????.....Looks like the roid-rage is continuing as he was recently arrested for an assault
Not isolating this stuff to your team.....just proving my point so you won't continue to be in denial. Anyway, I'm done with you guys, I really couldn't care any less about the Broncos......
