Everyday I see or hear more positive talk about Mario Williams. If I heard Mort correctly on Colin Cowherd today, he feels Mario is the best player in the draft and commented that himself and others feel he could be better than Peppers. I have also seen other articles and reports saying similar things about Mario.

I currently have Bush, Leinart, Brick and Mario as my top 4 (I feel they all could be worthy of the #1 overall), but have not decided on the order and to what teams for my next mock (possible trade involved). I'd love for Mario to be there at #5, but all these talks have got me believeing he very well could be too good of a prospect to still be on the board at #5. A lot will probably depend on Vince Young.

W/ or w/o picking the team that takes him, what spot do you actually see Mario going at (NOT hope he goes at), and do you agree that he should be considered as a potential top 4 pick?

With the FA QB talk in NO, I put him there.
That was another thing that got me thinking about this. I could see NO going that route, but then where I'm at a debate in my mock is do they drop down a spot or two and take one of Mario or Brick or stay put and do that??? Many possibilities.

New Orleans? The team letting Darren Howard walk because they already have Will Smith and Charles Grant?
:goodposting: If NO signs a QB, they take D'Brick to offset the loss of Bentley.

Agreed, I don't see them taking Mario over someone like Brick if they don't take a QB. Regardless, NO getting a quality FA QB could make for some interesting situations and shake up a few mocks.

Agreed. Personally, I wouldnt be shocked to see Buffalo try to come up into the top 4 after DBrick.

I'd much rather have Mario in Oakland than Hawk or Huff (or God-forbid Young), but with Brees to N.O. (if it goes) puts Mario in G.B. in my opinion.

In many years, Williams would battle for the 1st overall pick. But this year is an oddly deep class in terms of "elite" graded players. With the Packers signing Kampman to a long-term deal, that opens the door for them to take Hawk at 5 [something they probably would've considered anyway].

One scenario is that the Jets take him at 4...Abraham is on the block and they're going to be set at QB with Pennington and Ramsey. If Brick goes 2 or 3, and the Jets don't trade down, I think they would seriously consider Mario at 4 over Vince Young were they both on the board.
