I was thinking the exact same thing. Good pickup for the Rams. I just wonder how it will affect Robinsons production. What kind of Fantasy value does he have for the Rams? Is he now their #1 WR?
What has Clayton ever done to make of all people, Robinson, out?Speaking of the Rams, does Amendola look a like a sleeper there with Bradford?I think Clayton is likely to start at some point soon, but i think Robinson will be the odd man out. thoughts?
I tend to agree. I suspect they added him to have some veteran depth and not to start. He will have to learn a new system. He won't be worth much IMO unless Robinson and Amendola get hurt.I think it's possible Robinson still outscores him. Clayton in another city is still Clayton.
Clayton posted 67/939/5TDs his 2nd season in the NFL. When has Laurent Robinson ever posted those numbers? Robinson's best year is 37/437/1TD.I think this is great news for Mark Clayton who is only 27 years old and will be much further along than the majority of St Louis Rams WRs. He will probably start opposite Robinson and suddenly I think Bradford has a couple of weapons at his disposal. They never knew each other of course but both Clayton and Bradford played in the Oklahoma system so I bet that can help form a bond betwen the two of them.Clayton needed a fresh start and he got one, I am betting he will seize the opp. If you own him in dynasty I think his value might have actually ticked up a couple notches. What has Clayton ever done to make of all people, Robinson, out?Speaking of the Rams, does Amendola look a like a sleeper there with Bradford?I think Clayton is likely to start at some point soon, but i think Robinson will be the odd man out. thoughts?
I don't know about decent, just hope Bradford doesn't get killed before he has a chance to develop. He looks like the real goods. Already a fan.Robinson and Clayton are the WR's and Amondola plays the slot. They also have a couple nice young TE's for Bradford. Throw in SJax, and their offense is decent.
People will say they didn't play together at Oklahoma but the system was the same and it should translate to a bond forming. Very optimistic that Clayton can have success in St Louis.Maybe the Oklahoma boys can play well together?ETA: I see MOP beat me to the punch, but his post is a![]()
You mean like Cutler and Earl Bennett? If these two succeed together, it'll be because they are both good players, and not because the went to the same school (and didn't even play together).People will say they didn't play together at Oklahoma but the system was the same and it should translate to a bond forming.Maybe the Oklahoma boys can play well together?ETA: I see MOP beat me to the punch, but his post is a![]()
this is what i was referring to. Clayton suffered from mediocrity at QB for a few years, and then injuries. healthy i think he is better than Robinson 9whom I believe is currently dinged up). So as i said, i think at some point Robinson will be the 3rd string guy.Clayton posted 67/939/5TDs his 2nd season in the NFL. When has Laurent Robinson ever posted those numbers? Final cutdown day is like draft day in St louis anymore.Marshall Faulk sighs.......per Jamison Hensley, Ravens beat writer (via twitter):According to #Ravens players, Demetrius Williams is with the St. Louis Rams, too.
Bradford need some targets. I like these moves a lot. Wish STL would have gone for a top guy like Vjax, but this is a good second best.Final cutdown day is like draft day in St louis anymore.Marshall Faulk sighs.......per Jamison Hensley, Ravens beat writer (via twitter):According to #Ravens players, Demetrius Williams is with the St. Louis Rams, too.
Exactly my thinking in post 10. But happy to see that Otis agrees with me.BTW Otis, love the offseason entertainment in the FFA. But you had to go and settle down and now talk of remodeling the den. We old guys remodel the den, what we want from you is more downtown Manhatten, floozies and high alcohol consumption. Oh, and strip clubs, lots of em. Is that too much to ask?:livingvicariously:Bradford need some targets. I like these moves a lot. Maybe Righetti saved some pics, but probably not, guys useless except at weddings. And who can't score there?End of hijack.Exactly my thinking in post 10. The O isn't getting any younger. We need slme of the young bucks in the FFA to step up. Ive gone from random floozies and all night raging to apartment renovations, showers, and minivans. Some day i'll tell my kid i used to be cool and good with the ladies, and he'll laugh in my face.
Agreed. Clayton is getting a lot of looks in the game. He has the one long catch, but he's getting several quick strikes. Keep in mind, he was Bradford's teammate at Oklahoma, so the two know each other well. Danny Amendola just left with a leg/hamstring/cramp injury. Not sure how bad it is, but Clayton is looking like Bradford's favorite target.I definitely didn't see him having value, but he's definitely the guy to target here. Shows great chemistry with Bradford.Could easily see 60+ catches (Bradford will have his up/downs). Looks to be the security blanket to Bradford much in the same way Mason's been with Flacco.
Jeff, I think Clayton was gone before Bradford arrived but I could be wrong...Clayton is 27. But it's safe to say that Bradford coming from OK, the Rams were definitely going to tailor the playbook a little to his liking and keep him in a system he can thrive for now, Clayton probably was on board as soon as he walked in the door. You don't want to make mountains out of game 1 but these 2 guys are clocking right away and certainly Clayton is on his way to jump starting his career again.Agreed. You're right. I was just going to edit my statement. I'm watching the game and the announcers were the ones who said it, so I was going with their quote, then I check it out. Clayton and Bradford work out together in Oklahoma in the offseason, so they're definitely familiar with each other. You're right. I was just going to edit my statement.
