He's actually been solid against the Panthers in his career. He had a good day in PPR leagues against them earlier in the year (20+ points) and I believe last year he had over 100yds rushing against them.

Yeah, I might have spoken too soon on benching him. I still haven't decided, but I have other viable options in Rawls, CJA, Watkins. Tough call.

Couple things. First game this year, Luke Kuechly was out. Yes, last year, he had 100 yds and 2 TDs, but it took 30 carries to do it. And the second time they played in 2014, he only managed 10 for 40 yds in week 14.

Second, Payton's use of him the past few weeks and the play calling have been wayyyy to lopsided in favor of the pass to feel comfortable about him. I'm leaning toward benching him over CJA and Langford who both have cream puff matchups

Good point about Keuchly being out the first game.

I think a saving point about Ingram this year, is he's been involved in the passing game. Last week, he did only have 9 carries, but he also had 6 receptions. In the 1st game against the Panthers this year, he had 5 catches for 49yds. His floor is much higher this year, even without the TDs. He's only had more than 15 carries 5 times so far, yet he's the #3 RB in PPR (or at least in my league). I'm not expecting a big game out of him against Carolina, but his floor seems to be high enough to keep him in the lineup against a tough defense.

 
It's been really frustrating to see him rack up 60-70 yards in the first quarter and then practically never touch the ball again.

Considering benching for Gio or Draughn, both of whom are going against poorly-ranked rush defenses.

 
Mark Ingram - RB - Saints
NFL Network's Rand Getlin reports Mark Ingram is "dealing with a serious shoulder injury" that may end his season.
Ingram first popped up on the injury report Week 12 with the shoulder issue, but has been listed as probably the past two weeks. During those games, he's seen his workload scaled back a bit, and we may have a reason now. With Khiry Robinson (leg) already done for the year, would be left with C.J. Spiller, Tim Hightower, and KR-type Marcus Murphy at running back if Ingram has to hit the shelf. It'd be awful timing for fantasy owners. Ingram is currently the overall RB3 and has been as consistent as they come much of the year.

So is this something he's been dealing with and just managing? Or has it gotten so bad now that he's done?
 
The Saints had the nail put in there coffin Sunday. Throwing in the the flag and sending him to the pine. Season lost, why put miles on an injured back.

 
The answer between Hightower and Spiller as it pertains to the playoffs is likely "neither" but if I were forced I'd grab Spiller and hope the lights turn on. He's a dunce though, he's been running the wrong routes for 13 weeks.

 
This just sucks. My waivers are tonight and I'm the Ingram owner hoping no one else is paying attention right now. Now the big question of course is Spiller or Hightower? Saints don't really like calling running plays it seems so maybe Spiller is on the field all game with a few carries and a bunch of receptions.

 
Traded him for David Johnson last week...both had good games. Perhaps just in the nick of time? This for real? April 1st is a long ways off.

No idea. Maybe Spiller? Though he's done nothing all year to inspire any confidence. What does Hightower really have left at this point? I doubt he would get more than 10 carries a game. And don't know much about Murphy. Either way, it's going to be a RBBC and a mess more than likely.

 
I mean, there is no worthwhile handcuff in New Orleans. Hightower is garbage and Spiller won't see much of an uptick in carries I bet because he sucks too. You wonder when they'll decide if they're just sitting him this week or for the season?

 
I think Spiller is the low floor high ceiling option. Losing Ingram this late, I think you're only chance is rolling the dice on the high ceiling guy and hope it works. It could blow up in your face. He's been awful this year.

Spiller was rostered in my league, so I grabbed Hightower, expecting one and done.

 
Also weird that if the Saints knew it was bad, that Ingram went back to a full workload against Carolina. Spiller and Hightower had 1 touch each.
