FTFYThat's what I said about Droughns in the leagues where I own Hyde. I know it's been a while but he was fairly productive with AZ in a similar type offense. In addition, he has NOEven if Spiller was available in my league, I would rather someone else pick him up and take the gamble on him. In other words, I see him as benefitting me more if he's on someone else's team instead of mine.mileage on himreps from the past couple years.
The amount of injuries this season to starting caliber elite players is insane. Never seen anything like it.Wow, just wow. I have lost Bell, Luck and now Ingram. This has been a nightmare season.
Try to hold back your glee. :(Dear playoff opponent,
Congratulations. See you next year.
Link?i notcied brees had some comments today where he listed hightower as the first name then spiller then the 3rd guy. if hightower gets most of 1st and 2nd down and GL he could be a viable rb2
I picked him up in an effort to be funny/screw over my buddy, but stranger things have happened. Based on Spiller's ever reducing role and Brees' comments about Hightower, he might get 12-15 touches a game.i notcied brees had some comments today where he listed hightower as the first name then spiller then the 3rd guy. if hightower gets most of 1st and 2nd down and GL he could be a viable rb2
neither fool. Don't touch the waiver wire!!!!!!!Keep Matt Jones or pick up Spiller in PPR?
So if he looked good in preseason why did they keep Spiller and cut Hightower anyways? I'm not buying it.When Khiry went down and they signed Hightower, someone in this thread said that Hightower actually looked pretty good in preseason and liked the move.
Imagine his ceiling is limited but I can see the touches being there.
Because they're different styles. Ingram/Robinson were basically the same back. Spiller was supposed to be the 3rd down/2:00 drill specialist while also returning kicks. He just sucks. So if he looked good in preseason why did they keep Spiller and cut Hightower anyways? Wasn't Spiller hurt and had just signed for fairly big money? Maybe you mean why did they keep Khiry over Hightower. Khiry probably looked better. Just my guess anyway. So if he looked good in preseason why did they keep Spiller and cut Hightower anyways? ETA: linkSaints' Tim Hightower: In line for additional work
Hightower is in line for an elevated workload after Mark Ingram (shoulder) landed on injured reserve Wednesday.
The Saints have been flirting with Hightower since inking him to a deal in January, releasing him two times in September before signing him for good on Nov. 2. Active for each of the team's games in the meantime, he actually spelled Ingram in Week 10 when he was knocked out for a time, notching 11 carries for 46 yards. Hightower's subsequent usage over C.J. Spiller this past Sunday implies that he'll be given the first shot to replace Ingram for the season's final four contests.
Dion and Ingram here. Both my starters. Dammit.Wow, just wow. I have lost Bell, Luck and now Ingram. This has been a nightmare season.
Why would you play in a TD heavy non PPR league? Do you like to increase the luck factor or something? Throw a dart. But are either of these guys worth beans compared to what else is available for last minute RB pick ups? My rosters close tomorrow night for the playoffs.
Im debating Hightower, Spiller is owned. But in a TD heavy non PPR would any of you rather have Sproles or JBell or Tolbert? Kerwin Williams?
I have limped into the playoffs and have the most transaction fees I have ever accumalated. Im not even sure its worth it. I may just stick with my depth of Abdullah, Gio, Andrews, Woodhead and cross my fingers that I will have an RB when week 16 comes around, if I even get there which is seriously in doubt.
I understand your view as its not my only league. 5 keeper league that is 23 years old with cutthroat college buddies, good enough reason? Why would you play in a TD heavy non PPR league? I'm not expecting much from Hightower. If he's an upgrade over any of those guys, which one? And it probably wouldn't be much of an upgrade anyway. Not worth it, imo.But are either of these guys worth beans compared to what else is available for last minute RB pick ups? My rosters close tomorrow night for the playoffs.

Yeah Im thinking Id never play him unless all went down. I think im sticking with what I have and going to just hope I dont lose 2 rbs this weekend.I'm not expecting much from Hightower. "You hate to lose guys like that, that mean so much to your offense. But it's kind of the next-man-up mentality," Brees said. "And Tim Hightower is a guy who's been looking for an opportunity now for a while, and he's gonna get that. And C.J. Spiller as well. And Marcus Murphy. We'll have a role for all these guys."

Without context it almost sounds like Spiller is an afterthought quite literally there as he was talking.HereLink?i notcied brees had some comments today where he listed hightower as the first name then spiller then the 3rd guy. if hightower gets most of 1st and 2nd down and GL he could be a viable rb2

There it is, straight from the QB who knows who will be able to protect him. Saints are 7th in the league in passing percentage and Ingram was clearly preferred in pass protection over Spiller. That is seemingly why Spiller's usage has been limited. The Saints, first and foremost, are a passing team and Spiller can't pass protect. This is one of the reasons why 2 different coaching staffs preferred Jackson over Spiller and Payton (and apparently Brees) don't trust him. No they don't come out and throw the guy under the bus but you can hear it in their statements.Without context it almost sounds like Spiller is an afterthought quite literally there as he was talking.HereLink?i notcied brees had some comments today where he listed hightower as the first name then spiller then the 3rd guy. if hightower gets most of 1st and 2nd down and GL he could be a viable rb2

Brees also talked about Ingram when everyone was so high on Spiller, he was spot on then. Im guessing him going to the Hightower talk is a major tell.Dropped Spiller for Hightower. Brees talked about Ben Watson first when the fantasy world anointed Josh Hill as the Graham replacement. Hightower has had flashes throughout his career, much like Watson did.
Yep, we have a no waiver pickups/trades in the playoffs rule so by process of elimination I'll be trotting out Demarco Murray this week. Both my keepers are IR'd with Ingram and Bell... so, I have the shortest bench possible since I can't drop them. Into the playoffs with West, Woodhead, Powell, Hightower and Ajayi. Good Christ.
I had Bell, Dion, Ingram and his handcuff Robinson.Dion and Ingram here. Both my starters. Dammit.Wow, just wow. I have lost Bell, Luck and now Ingram. This has been a nightmare season.
I'd rather roll out Jackson the way Winston is playing. Even in non-PPR, as he's a good TD threat every week. What's the best pick up- Hightower, Powel or V. Jackson, in a non ppr? I only have to start one RB so picking p an RB isn't totally necessary. I picked up Hightower but Jackson is just sitting there.
Really great take.. As far as I am concerned Brees just said Hightower is the guy. There it is, straight from the QB who knows who will be able to protect him. Hightower wasn't much at pass protection when with the Cardinals but he improved that part of his game with the Redskins so much so that he was considered the best pass blocking back on the team by some. He was also good as an outlet receiver just as Ingram was this year. If Hightower has enough left in his legs, he should have the most opportunity going forward.
I was looking at his stats yesterday and he probably has the least amount of variance of any player this year. His worst game for me in a PPR was 9.4 and his best was 22.8. He may not have been flashy and get those 30+ point games, but he had a pretty high floor all things considered.Yes, he's been my most consistent RB in one of my leagues: (. Usually not flashy but always a good amount of points.
Ouch. Bad luck. Hope we can still cobble something together for the playoffs.I had Bell, Dion, Ingram and his handcuff Robinson.Dion and Ingram here. Both my starters. Dammit.Wow, just wow. I have lost Bell, Luck and now Ingram. This has been a nightmare season.
