Marques Colston only 3 catches with Brees 300+ (1 Viewer)

This was the one game I didn't have a view of at the sports bar. Was shocked to see low statline with Colston considering Brees had 300+ yards. Did he get dinged up? Or was TB just scheming to take him out of the game?

Can any TB or NO homers chime in with comments and/or analysis?

I didn't see him a lot, but I'm pretty sure he never got dinged.

I didn't see the game, but even the best receivers have some stinkers. Until I hear something different I'm just assuming Colston had one of his week 1.

I saw it. Hit a long one to Colston and several dump-offs to Bush that went for yards.

Glad I have brees....had him #2 until Brady went down.

Watched the whole game. Colston was covered well by one of the best pass D's in the league. Brees hit a couple long bombs to his other WRs and then there was a couple long passes to Bush. Really aside from a few big plays, the TB D shut down the NO offense really. Brees played well to get the yards he got.

It's my fault, fellow Colston owners. Despite my history of crap luck with New Orleans Saints players, I drafted him anyway with my second pick overall because of his proven success, his QB, and the offensive weaponry around him. My greatest fear is that Marques Colston busts like Joe Horn did in 2005.

And where the hell was Santonio Holmes?!!? Bad enough that I had to suffer through my team getting buttraped at Heinz Field, but my afternoon was further ruined by Holmes getting no love from bosom buddy Ben.

He did get dinged up at some point when Barber hit him on a slant, but the main reason, was Brees' yardage came on several bombs to other players and Bush breaking some big gains... Its just the way the game went... I have Brees and Colsten.. The only thing that really bothered my was Shockey got several looks on routes Colsten typically runs..

I watched most of the game. The Saints threw a lot of screens, and the few deep balls didn't go his direction (I think he had one deep target that Brees overthrew).

I wouldn't be overly worried. My only concern right now is that he's a guy who used to get looks in tough third down and goal line situations and Shockey had a few of those today instead.

:goodposting: The game featured a lot of dull sprinkled with a few big plays. Colston just wasn't a part of the big ones. Three plays accounted for almost half of Brees' totals. Just one of those games.

I was flipping threw the games and he did hurt his thumb at some point (i think it was in the 3rd quarter) ... but he just missed a play or 2 and was back in the game. My 3 WR's are Colston, Holmes and Calvin Johnson ... it was an extremely frustrating day ... i watched the entire Lions game and between the pass interferences in the end zone and Kitna's inability to throw a decent ball I was ready to lose it by about 2:30 EST.

:goodposting: This is why I am so heavy on Plax this year.

Despite his stats, Brees looked jittery and rusty most of the day. Once he settles down Colston will start getting his numbers.

not to hijack this thread. .but you have both Brees & Brady.. I'm guessing this is a keeper league but wow. I would of thought you would of traded one of these guys but I'm guessing you're glad that you didn't..

brees was pressured quite a bit during the game. i felt like the playcalling was all over the place. brees wasn't in his comfort zone and the timing was off. he needs to adjust to shockey, for example. with colston bottled up for much of the game, he didn't have a go-to person.it looked like a week 1 game with the offense.

Not sure, but maybe he meant he had him ranked #2 and is happy to have him and not Brady? That just the way I read it.

yeah you're probably right.. It would be awful silly to have those 2 QB's to start a year.. but you would look like a genious now if you somehow did & Brady is out for the year..
