Finished the first three seasons a couple of weeks ago, and started Jessica Jones S1 this weekend. Haven't watched any of the others yet (Nick Cage, Defenders, Punisher), should I before I start up on this new season?

JJ Season 1 was excellent, but not required viewing for the new Daredevil. You may want to watch the 2 Punisher seasons, and after that they may have a random line or two from the Defenders. Nick Cage is awesome! But he wasn't in Luke Cage so no need to watch that if you don't want to.

Iron Fist is to generally be avoided even if you have free time

So my Mom says she is excited for this show. I was stunned. She says yeah, I liked the movie. The one with Ben Affleck that no one liked? yup.

Told her this will be a little darker and grittier than that. But a lot better too. We'll see what she says after the first two eps tomorrow.

I am definitely looking forward to it. Loved the Netflix series.

Re: Defenders - I liked it as well. It was behind DD, JJ, and Punisher for me in the Netflix shows but ahead of Luke Cage and Iron Fist. I will say I really liked the first half of season 1 of Luke Cage, but then something happens and they change course (trying to be non-spoilery). Season 2 was a disappointment for me.

Re: Defenders - I liked it as well. It was behind DD, JJ, and Punisher for me in the Netflix shows but ahead of Luke Cage and Iron Fist. Agree on Defenders. But I am a sucker for the team up or cross over.
And actually Iron Fist S2 wasn't as bad as S1, IMO. Sadly you kind of have to watch S1 to get there.

Yeah this weekend I found a list of how to watch everything in chronological order.....too late. Just want to make sure I'm not missing something so important to the story that I won't "get it". Obviously we don't know what's coming with the new season so not totally answerable.

I am liking JJ so far. Not a comic book guy so had never even heard of her or most of these characters outside of those that have showed up elsewhere in the MCU or other Marvel shows.

I liked the season overall. Some things I found puzzling, especially the after credits scene. I could really tell the difference between the first 7 episodes and the last 2 (that's when they came in and did extensive reshoots). I do think the next season will be more "on the mark" of what a lot of fans wanted.

My DD season rankings: S1 by a long shot, S3, decent gap to this season (S4 even though they call it a new beginning), then S2.
