Marvel Cinematic Universe - Fantastic Four - No Homework Required (2 Viewers)

I like it but even though Kate is a champion Martial Artist it’s hard to believe a 16 year old girl is able to fight and beat a bunch of grown men who are trained “soldiers”. I get it though.
It was posted above but calling the guys she beat up trained soldiers is a stretch. Those guys were bad henchman. I understand your point but I was OK with it since they really were bottom of the barrel bad guys.

i saw externals this weekend with my lady the first time we went to a theater since covid and it was ok homewrecker was crazy so she was accurately cast take that to the bank bromigos

Great episode. Could have been a sequence in an Avengers movie. Bravo, and also looking forward to Uncle's reveal.

Yes this will be very interesting if true (particularly if the actor returns), it matches the story line.  Also a marvel mobile game I play is releasing something related to this (I'll hold off for saying right now, but it didn't dawn on me who it was until I saw her father's bloody hand print on her face).

Really enjoyed episode 3 as well, I find myself smiling through it.  Some eye rolling parts in the action scenes but I think a strong dynamic between Kate and Clint.

I am enjoying Hawkeye.  Much better IMO than FAWS.  I am pumped for Uncle.  I had to rewind the “chuckle” a few times.  If that isn’t the TV actor, that was some fine voice work.

Definitely better. I cared about no one in FAWS. So political that it forced the story at times and it just didn’t have a natural flow to it or explainable actions.

The family stuff around Kate is a mess and the entire setup is too convenient but damn if this show isn't fun.  It's really well executed in every other department.

I guess I am in the minority, I do not think Hawkeye is that good.

I am surprised that the majority of people here like it.

I think it's awesome. The action combined with the Christmas themes as well as some great characters. So far this one is up there with Loki and WV. 10x better than FAWS

Decided to go catch a matinee of Eternals. I was entertained enough. Glad I saw it in a theater since I was gonna watch it no matter what. Definitely wasn’t as bad as I expected, and I assumed I’d be extremely confused but they explained everything fine. I know this doesn’t seem like a ringing endorsement but it’s squarely middle of the road in the Marvel Universe which is still pretty fun.

What don't you like about it?
I don't "not" like it, but I kinda just find it meh. I'll watch it, but so far I am not enthralled by it and jumping to watch the new episode when it drops.

I'm having a hard time figuring out what it is. I like archery and Hawkeye as a character, so it's not either of those things. Mostly ok with Kate and her story but it's just fine so far. I do like how they are portraying it being hard of hearing / deaf in some scenes, and the banter that creates got a chuckle.

Hawk Eye is good but not great. Has potential though but won’t be better than Wanda or Loki. Miles ahead of FaWS.
Kinda. My oldest son thinks Loki was the worst of the bunch, but all 3 of us who watch put Hawkeye in our top 2. Just behind Wanda right now.

Are you counting What if as well, or just the live action stuff?  My rankings:

  • WandaVision
  • Loki
  • Hawkeye
  • What If
  • FatWS
I liked FatWS but it was very average compared to the rest.  WV and Loki in Tier 1, Hawkeye Tier 2, What If almost Tier 2 (so Tier 3), and FatWS Tier 4.

i put what if on the bottom. Which is disappointing as I was really looking forward to it.  I thought it was decent but not great.

I go WV, Hawkeye, Loki, FAWS, what if.  If we added Netflix, DD is king.  The others are somewhere around FAWS tier.

Still haven't seen the Eternals, WhatIf or any of Hawkeye.

Will likely wait for Eternals on Disney+ and will start Hawkeye in the next week or so.  Don't think I'll circle back to WhatIf unless I'm on bedrest or something.

Will definitely take the whole family to see Spider-Man....probably the week after Christmas.

I thought Loki was great and a slight notch below Wandavision.  FaWS was underwhelming so I'm really looking forward to Hawkeye.

If I’m being honest, after watching a few of the Disney installments, I have to say that I miss Netflix’s darker, grittier and more explicit take on the Marvel universe.

Yeah I wasn't including the Netflix stuff but DD was awesome.  I thought Season 1 of JJ was great as well, and enjoyed The Punisher.  Everything else was at least pretty good except for Iron Fist.

I think within the next couple of years we end up with Disney After Hours type section on the platform. And you can get the R-rated material that falls under the overall corporate umbrella. Would have enjoyed an R-rated version of Get Back if the footage was there.

Disney+ is up to PG-13 -- R rated is on HULU.

R rated Wanda vision could have been interesting.

I don't.  It seems to be mostly unlikeable jerks beating each other up.  Every show seemed like every other to me.

Funny that's how I feel about Disney marvel
I loved DareDevil and The Punisher on Netflix (the rest to various degrees) but they don't really fit into the MCU as a whole which is definitely lighter fair. The Disney+ shows take on the same tone as the films.

Hawkeye episode 4. Really good. So much to wrap up in 2 more episodes.

Clint and Kate.

Clint/ Ronin

Kate's mom and Jack.

Maya Lopez and Clint. Who's Uncle?

Black Widow assassin now in the mix.

Laura Barton who are you?

DareDevil is going to be in the MCU with the same actor that played him in the Neflix series.

Yeah if the Emergency Awesome dude is right, Hawkeye is the start of bringing Daredevil and Kingpin into the MCU.
Yes it kind of seems that’s what they’re setting up. I’d be happy to see it but it would also be hard to believe Kingpin would put up with the morons in the track suit mafia (don’t remember if there’s a comic book connection- it’s been over 35 years since I’ve read one).

i really liked punisher thought the actor was great and i hope they bring him in but he doesnt really have a superpower does he take that to the bank brohans

Punisher show on Netflix was awesome. I think Walking Dead really lost out when he left the show. I mean it was a great scene back when the show was good but we lost that no nonsense guy you want alive to protect you in the apocalypse guy.

Also, not sure I see how he would be incorporated into MCU at all. He’s more like protector of normal people like a Jack Reacher or Equalizer and the bad guys in MCU are on a different level. I know Hawkeye isn’t super powered, but he’s more global so to speak.

ok i agree but still they could easily give him a super power like they seem to be doing with john snow in externals although they havent told us just quite yet it seems that now that the movies are taking off they are getting a little more flexible with cannon take that to the bank bromigos

Anyone notice Clint's coffee mug in episode 4 said "Thanos Was Right"?

Those have been cute Easter Eggs, along with the bathroom graffiti. No doubt during the Blip, some of those that remained, their lives got better, and were probably pi##ed when everyone came back. And now you have this whole movement of "Thanos Was Right" people.

well wasnt the whole changes that happened during the blip a big theme in the bucky and falcon series i think it is something we will see more of in future marvel vehicles and it is a pretty neat plot device take that to the bank bromigos

I think that "meme" also became popular in the real world (ours).
