But, as long as Carol Danvers can come down and head butt Thanos it will be difficult to create the kinds of stakes that make threats feel real. That's why I think Rogue is so important because they need to reset Danvers. Of course there are other ways to accomplish that but the Rogue v Danvers storyline was a classic.

Putting too much IP out there is a big problem and I love making all the IP their own installations with occasional small crossovers. But without resetting Danvers the MCU will need Dark Phoenix level threats to make the stakes feel real.

Oh and, Alpha Flight? Talk about throwing too many toys in the sandbox. Unless something changed that I don't know about they are a third tier property on par with The Eternals or The Inhumans (although Black Bolt is probably tier two).

I honestly have no idea what they were trying to do with The Marvels but whatever it was they did it poorly. It's a shame. I like all three characters.

I enjoyed The Marvels. It was some low stakes good comic book fun.

As for Captain Marvel, there is always another powerful being out there that will help. Perhaps Rogue as mentioned above. With the FF and hints of Galactus that means we might get the Silver Surfer or some other cosmic beings. Or they will nerf her as needed for a sequence as we saw throughout The Marvels with her powers being entangled with the others.

Either just keep her off planet or have her die of cancer; like the original Mar-Vell did. Heck, I think they put this option in play with Rambeaus mother dying from getting Marvel's power.

The Rogue thing is obviously canon; but it would take even a longer time to bring it about; having to bring Rogue in as a villain and then having the Avengers and an OP Danvers trying to fight her.

Madame Web is a character from Spider-man comics who has her hand (literally) on the "web of life". Think of this like in Loki where each branch is a different universe, or altenate timeline. In Spider-man comics, there is a similar setup called the web of life in which Madam Web can see into these timelines/universes by touching the web. She can basically see into the future or predict future events.

So the movie Madame Web is an extension of the Sony Spiderverse, which includes all of those spider-man movies, Venom, the vampire movie (can't remember the name), and soon to be Kraven. Madame Web can interact with each spider-person from each alternate timeline/multiverse, bring them into the Web of Life and use them like pawns - I believe. This is what I'm recalling from comics, but it's been some time since I've read that area initially.

I thought we would've seen her in the Spider-verse animated movies, but I guess not. That would've made more sense to me instead of them using Spiderman 2099 as the figure head of that centralized/universal spider lair.

RDJ as Doom is a complete red herring. It's a bait and switch of some sort. I simply cannot see a way to make the founding pillar of the MCU the antagonist for Phase...whatever. It doesn't matter its a different character, RDJ is Iron Man. Full Stop.
