Marvin Harrison in Handgun Trouble Again?! (1 Viewer)

ESPN Story

Excerpt...

Harrison was stopped at approximately 5 p.m. on the 2700 block of Jefferson Avenue in Philadelphia about three blocks from a garage he owns, according to three law enforcement sources. The garage was the site of a 2008 shooting in which three people were injured. Two of the victims accused Harrison of firing the shots, but he has not been charged in the case.

I dunno. They're completely unrelated issues but.....the fact this guy's a lowlife will likely factor into his HOF candidacy. Completely irrelevant to his contribution to the game. Pretty sure the public would be best served with him behind bars, besides, no one wants to watch him try to give a speech - could this be a historic first acceptance speech live from a jail cell?

Some people carry guns in their car for protection, regardless of what the law is

While they drive the wrong way down one way streets being trailed by police and only stop when a cop steps into the road. How many FBGs haven't done that 18 months after being involved in a murder investigation? :lmao:

I've accidentally driven the wrong way down a one way street before and I've carried a gun in my car before.

But you ignored the cops behind you and only stopped when a patrolman stepped out and you then lied to the cops right?

Johnny U sounds like he may have just ran the cop over. Sympathizing with a thug. So you illegally carry firearms in your vehicle while breaking traffic laws as well and you think that is OK?I'd love to hear your thoughts on illegal aliens. I guess they're OK too right? LOL!

There were a lot of very good WRs in the same period Harrison played. Would he really be in HoF contention?

Here is stats:Career Receptions: 2nd all-timeCareer Receiving yards: 5th all-timeCareer receiving TDs: 5th all-timeCareer Receiving yds/game: 6th all-timeSingle season # of receptions: 1st all-timeSuperBowl winner, 8 time Pro-Bowler, 3 time All Pro.I realize that Cris Carter is not already in, but it is just a matter of time. Also, looks as though Harrison is going to have a couple year head start on TO and Moss, but frankly, besides this off-field BS, he should be a shoe-in.

I'm just saying that I have at least one time in my life gone the wrong way down a one way street by accident. I quickly recovered and corrected a wrong, but it can happen to anyone. Also, back in the early 90s I did have a revolver in my car when I went on vacation to Florida. Probably not a smart idea, but I did do it for protection. Lastly, to answer your question about illegal aliens, I despise them.

According to the law enforcement sources, the patrolman saw Harrison place something that appeared to be a weapon in the seat console of his car. When the officer asked him to step out of the vehicle, Harrison produced a car registration and a permit to carry a weapon, both of which were in order. When he was asked whether he had a weapon, however, he answered no, the sources said.
Why lie about carrying a handgun if he is legally registered to carry one? Strange.

Probably because it was used in a crime and he wants to deny it's existence?

For what its worth, I recently played in a celebrity golf tournament with a player from Syracuse that played with Marvin. He was a WR and friends with him.( not Q Ismial) I asked him about the past shooting and he said although he had not spoken to him, he said he had no doubt Marvin did it. He said Marvin has done a great job keeping his gangster personality in check. I was surprised about the things he said about Marvin

Throughout his legal troubles, and the fact that he hid his hood side so well, I'm pretty sure he's not an idiot, and that the gun that was used to shoot Dixon is LONG gone.

I LEGALLY carry my firearm in my vehicle and violate traffic laws (speeding...) every day. In fact, my .45 Springfield is on the passenger floor of my car in the parking lot outside right now!Does that count? :goodposting: As far as illegal Aliens, well let's just say that I don't disagree with anything going on in Arizona right now...

Man, it must have been exciting golfing with such a celebrity as the WR3 for Syracuse during the MH era?!

I'm guessing you didn't make that mistake on a one way street in your home town... a few blocks from a business you own.

No, it was in Cincinnati, Ohio on August 16 1978 on my way to a concert that featured The Eagles, The Steve Miller Band, and Eddie Money :lmao: . I wasn't feeling any pain on that day 32 years ago. Before you judge, keep in mind it was a different era with different attitudes back then. However, my wife recently turned the wrong way down a one way street just 5 minutes from our house.

He probably also wouldn't take a loaded, cocked gun in his carry on bag when flying or shoot himself in the leg at a club. Some NFL players have proven to be complete idiots.....but Harrison doesn't seem like one of them. He is a smart gangstar!

You and your wife = Bonnie & Clyde!

Sadly, this gun business and the mysterious 2008 shooting will work to delay and possibly derail Marvin's HOF campaign.
The guy likely killed someone or payed someone to do it and it's sad he won't make the HoF? WTF? Am I missing the sarcasm here?
Why should it? Its not the Hall of Good Citizens. Its the HoF.....Football related and not character related.
Felonies should be a limiting factor for enshrinement into the hallowed HOF!

So I guess you think OJ should be kicked out. :goodposting:

Any Felony.

Would you let the Son of Sam in as long as he can throw for 75K yards and 500 TDs?

That is incredibly irresponsible. I hope you're kidding.
