I picked up Hill this week, just b/c I was feeling uneasy about relying on Stafford - he is so injury prone and today just confirms the label. I think Hill is close and hopefully will get the start next week if Stafford can't go.is Shaun hill ready yet?
It clearly wasn't a new injury. He was obviously not 100% healed from his first injuryWe should just pin this thread for the entirety of Stafford's career, so we won't have to make new threads each time he gets a new injury.

Id say he's going on IR. we will probably never find out from the coaching staff how long he will be outSo Im guessing we wont know anything until Monday on Stafford as to the time he will be out?
I'm going to assume he WAS fully healed from the previously shoulder injury. If not, shame on the staff for sending their franchise QB onto the field for a 2-5 team if he wasn't healthy enough.Pretty tough to dog him as he obviously wasn't fully healed from the previous shoulder injury. Some guys just like to pile on. Sheesh.
Dude, they've done it before. Wasn't it just last year he came back in with a bad wing to throw a game-winning TD? They were as bad or worse then.I'm going to assume he WAS fully healed from the previously shoulder injury. I feel this injury really hurts alot of guys next week, with Brees, Rivers, and Rodgers on bye. Does anyone here in the shark pool really think he plays next week?Just realized that during Rivers' bye I have Garrard going against Houston...not too bad. Was really looking forward to finally starting Stafford. Looks like I might have to draft a QB in our rookie draft next year if Stafford can't play more than 2 weeks in a row with a devastating shoulder injury.
I don't think there is any way he plays again this year. But we will find out more on Tuesday after the MRI...I feel this injury really hurts alot of guys next week, with Brees, Rivers, and Rodgers on bye. He doesn't seem like the pot smoking, lazy ###, loser type to me.Matt Stafford = Charles RogersJust saying.
I'd be very surprised if they had considering they didn't rush him back before even after Hill went down. Think he's just injury prone.I'm going to assume he WAS fully healed from the previously shoulder injury.Pretty tough to dog him as he obviously wasn't fully healed from the previous shoulder injury. Charles Rogers was made of glass, too, and ultimately that's what brought him down. I think the pot smoking and loser label came later. He doesn't seem like the pot smoking, lazy ###, loser type to me.Matt Stafford = Charles RogersJust saying.
http://www.nfl.com/news/story/09000d5d81be...le=HP_headlinesIMO the most frustrating part of him re-injuring the shoulder is the fact that he caused it. The defender had his legs wrapped and he rolled onto his right shoulder to soften the fall. The football Gods do not like Detroit.
He was inactive yesterday.A team can designate an inactive player as 3rd QB and in theory he could have played. He didn't though and they could have used him as they watched a 10 point lead slip away with under 5 minutes left. That's gotta raise a red flag about whether he can play this coming week.Hiil will be the replacement. He filled in great when Stafford was originally hurt.
Published Sun Nov 7 10:15:00 p.m. ET 2010(Rotoworld) Lions backup QB Shaun Hill (fractured forearm) wasn't healthy enough to take snaps from center or make handoffs this week.Analysis: "That we haven't tried yet. I can take shotgun snaps," said Hill, who indicated that he could hand off with his right hand if necessary. Hill is optimistic that the injury will have healed to the point where he can play next week, but it's not a certainty. The Lions have a nice fantasy matchup at Buffalo, so Hill will be a hot waiver addition if it looks like he'll get the nod over Drew Stanton.
Sounds like good old fashioned injury tough guy stupidity there that ya kind of like to hear for the dedication, but don't want to actually happen. He could take a shotgun snap and use his good hand to hand it off. Waiting for the "And if I break that hand, I'll kick it to the RB. I used to be good at soccer."It's kind of interesting to just be thinking that that might have been better than Stanton. From last night...

Over the years, I've thought some QBs were likely going to be decent if not good QBs, but eventually they got beaten so often due to poor OL play that they were just shell-shocked and "done." Do you feel that way about any of the previous three QBs?Also, (in a way San Fran did the same thing after he played well) why can't they just go with Hill? Why is waiting for a new franchise QB to develop the move here instead of rolling with the guy that is completing 60+% and throwing for 300 every other start? The Lions are snakebit when trying to draft a franchise QB.Chuck LongAndre WareJoey HarringtonMatt Stafford
The bottom line is that the Lions have so much money invested in Stafford that they really can`t get another top dollar QB for a couple of years. Hill did do a very nice job when he was in.It is looking like Stafford will probably be out the rest of the season again so Hill will get his shot.Over the years, I've thought some QBs were likely going to be decent if not good QBs, but eventually they got beaten so often due to poor OL play that they were just shell-shocked and "done." I second this. If for any reason Stafford gets easily hurt over the next 2-3 years, he'll just become a pretty good backup QB for any team who's not willing to invest in a starter with major durability issues.Ok this is getting comical, yes we get it Stafford is injury prone, yes the lions seemed snake bitten. But can someone tell me how the hell Stafford gets lumped into a group of failed QB prospects who can't produce even when on the field? Stafford produces when healthy, complain about the injuries but his name mentioned with long, harrington and ware is comical.
Not lumping Stafford in with the loser QBs, just saying the Lions are snakebit when drafting QBs high. Stafford may have top 5 QB skills, but if he is not on the field it does not really matter.Stafford reinjured the same shoulder, in the same way, that he hurt it earlier this season...a few weeks ago. We aren't talking about a completely different injury here. It takes time for the human body to fully heal, and frankly there is just no possible way he could have been at 100%...and he looked pretty stinkin good playing at whatever % healthy he was against a tough Jets D. I just don't get this mindset that says he's this brittle, injury prone player after two pretty nasty hits (last year and the hit he took from Peppers this year). The kid has moxy, and maybe a bit too much. Maybe he'd be wiser to collapse and not take the hits, but he's a fire competitor. And now you want to lump him in with a list of "loser QB's" and start talking about Detroit needing to find a franchise QB now? Are you serious? Don't we have to take into account the quality of his O-line? How long has he been playing in the NFL? How many games has he started? Some of you people are out of your minds...
Why are we so quick to pass on Drew Stanton? That guy is the future of the Lions.
Fixed.-QGI hate to even think this but the Lions may need to find another QB, not a backup but a starter. Stafford has the tools but he seems to be one of those guys who can`t stay on the field. The hit yesterday was just a regular tackle, not harsh at all. Before that it appeared he had hurt his hand when he knocked down early in the game. A Lion beat write commented yestersay that Stafford is always getting dinged up at practice as well..little things that he has to come off for a rep or two.
