McFadden's value going forward? (1 Viewer)

snip

I actually didn't say what I meant correctly. You're right that it won't lose value. What I meant is that, if looking to sell the pick, it's going to be very difficult to move because most owners will look at spending less to acquire the 1.3 or 1.4. Thus, unless you plan on using the pick, the 1.1 is going to be hard or impossible to sell at full value.I do agree that either side of the trade would be happy. As I needed the RB and felt it made a serious difference in my being a contender, I made the move. The other team being pretty far out of the playoff hunt already gets guaranteed value that will not depreciate for the year which could happen to DMC in the event of an injury or drop in production. I didn't mean to hijack to discuss the specific trade but to show that DMC actually is carrying a large amount of value but also covers a wide range as there are people that think the trade is a steal on both ends depending on who you talk to.

I own Bush and offered Nicks to the McFadden owner and was turned down.

We now may be working on a deal where I send Miles Austin and Mike Bush to him for Jamaal Charles and a WR that's yet to be decided upon.

I wanted a QB upgrade in my keeper league and was close to trading McFadden, Brady, Blount, and Royal for Brees, D. Williams (Car. RB), B. Jackson (GB RB), and B. Edwards (NYJ WR). It wasn't a great trade for me, but I just couldn't do it. I think McFadden may be starting to figure out what it takes to be an NFL RB.

By the way it looks like I am still getting Brees and getting to keep McFadden in the process.

I don't know what the guy is worth, but I'm going to hold onto him for the moment. If he is solid this week against a good Seattle "D" who will be geared up to stop him then I think we can start looking at him like a bonafide stud.

Insane isn't it? I feel you man, after that last game people are valuing him as if he's going to have a record setting finish like Chris Johnson last year.edit: confirmed, McFadden is untouchable. White + Witten + Rice = no go.
Although the McFadden owner is crazy for turning that offer down unless he is absolutely stacked at wr, could you imagine trying to tell someone this before the season that you were DISAPPOINTED this trade didnt happen.Dont know if McFadden can keep this up but he certainly seems more risky to me than other top 5 backs (Gore, CJ, Peterson). If I could get one of them for McFadden, I would do it in a heartbeat.

lol, well I'm not that disappointed since I'm close to getting C.J. for the same thing. I wasn't even sure if that was a good trade for me but I wanted to emphasize how insanely high his value is right now. Even with his receivers being Marshall and Smith (CAR) and his TE being Lewis, it made zero sense to love a guy that much but I guess McFadden is just so good, you automatically win if he's on your roster. I kind of hope he flops against Seattle's 2nd ranked run D so his value comes back down to earth so he is purchasable. But yeah, it is crazy how far he has come this year. Even last week I'm sure he would have settled for Calvin Johnson and thought it was a steal. Hard to believe one week could make this much of a difference.

Well, I'm looking to trade to an owner who has lost all of his QB's due to injury but still have quality RB depth. So I want to make sure I'm getting a player that will help me in the final weeks of the season. I have not watched a single highlight of McF this year, but I see his fantasy point production is amazing. I do keep hearing about him not being able to take a hit and that Bush keeps stealing carries. Is there anything to worry about with Bush still in the mix?

Bush only had 5 touches before the game was in-hand. He took over during mop-up duty late in the 4th & got 6 carries & the TD. Also, his 1 reception for 55 yards was a total fluke play that was intended for another receiver & got deflected backwards right into Bush's chest and he had open field ahead of him (similar to the immaculate reception).Bush is a clear backup while DMC is healthy, and unless there's mop-up duty to be had every game, he's a non-factor.

If you would read this, or any of the other numerous McFadden threads, you would realize most folk who have watched him are amazed how well he's been able to take hits and run people over.
