McGahee (1 Viewer)

With KJ possibly being out I am dwindling at Rb. I thought I was good with C. Taylor, KJ, and Willis, but now I am forced to start Lundy this week with playoff hopes on the line. Is anyone hearing if McGahee is close, or is 4 weeks looking like the earliest. I have not heard anything and really would like information from homers or anyone who has insight. Thanks in advance.

Would be interested in McGahee info as well. Don't have Willis, but do have A-Train and would like to know how much longer I can rely on him.

I haven't seen the Bills play, but it looks like Thomas is productive and the Bills are playing much better. I don't know how much you can attribute there recent success (near upset of the Colts and defeat of the Texans) to A-Train, but it certainly is something to consider.

With three broken ribs, it all depends on how fast McGahee's bones knit.

4 weeks is the general amount of time it would take an average human.

So I guess the question is, is Mcgahee an average human being or not?

I broke 2 ribs and still had pain breathing by week 4 let alone getting hit by an NFL LB - but then again I may be a below average human being!

:D Or you dont have a 30 million dollar facility (sp?) and trainers and physical therapists and.... to help you out to heal.

Even after 4 weeks, the pain would still be there of course, but the bones are well on their way towards knitting together for the average human being. The main thing is the danger of the break fracturing even more & possibly puncturing his lungs should be over by week 4 of the injury. The question again is, are McGahee's ribs healing at the average pace for humans, & even with a flack jacket, what is his tolerance to pain?I think those are the deciding questions on when McGahee returns.

With the season almost certainly a loss (4-6 isn't out, but it doesn't bode well for the Bills), I would think they would take their time with McGahee...

Plus with the way A-Train is playing no need to test Willis' pain threshold at the moment.

I agree with both of these statements, but am not sure the Bills see it this way. What are the locals saying about Willis?

A train has been VERY, VERY, average at best. I have watched their games. It has been Losman's development and the play of the D that got them close against INdy (DEfense) and Houston (Losman and Evans). Thomas looked terrible running the ball yesterday, but did catch 7 dinky dump offs which one or two of them he turned into something, but so could Warren Sapp with the running room he had. Thomas is not very good. As a McGahee owner I was eyeing up those games for some time and when he got hurt is sucked, but Atrain did nothing special. Jax will pound Atrain next week. no doubt!!

No doubt A-Train did not look special. I've also watched yesterdays game and all Bills game this year and sorry to tell you Willis did not look anything special most of the year either. I own them both BTW in a PPR league so all I really want is one of them to be the man and get the touches but if Willis fails to return this year I don't think I'll be missing much.

I have to sadly agree with you, but I don't think Willis would have sucked against Indy and Houston. A train put up Willis numbers but I think Willis would have done better if that makes any sense. Regardless I hear what you are saying and I must agree. Both suck!

The only thing I've seen recently in regards to Willis was a blurb quoted from the Bill's website saying he was "close." I take that with a grain of salt, but it's all I've seen.

This is totally my opinion, so take it FWIW, but I think he will play again if/when he's cleared. Talk about "not risking him" in a lost season is fan talk--that's not how coaches think, plus there are jobs and $ at stake. I certainly don't think they will want to risk a more serious injury since they're not playing for much, but I think he'll go if the doctors will clear him. Week 13 or 14 sounds reasonable based on what I've read, but every injury is different...as others have pointed out some of it will be dependent on his pain tolerance.

Too much wishful thinking here :lmao:

If he's out 4 weeks what shape you think he's in if he plays...he not that great to begin with..if your depending on him for a playoff run/or in playoffs..FORGET IT! :banned:

 I guess I missed the wishful thinking. My opinion was that he will play again, not that he will set the world on fire. As someone that limped to a championship last year pairing LJ with whatever WW scrub had the best matchup, having the option of Willis playing against the Jets, Dolphins and Titans in the playoffs could certainly help a team in a pinch.

That's a great point. The Bills have such a juicy playoff schedule, that you have to factor that into the equation when looking at there rb situation.

The funny part is that it looks like the Bill should have kept Travis Henry. I was never a big Henry fan, but he is looking a lot better than McGahee at this point.
