The way I see it......Meriweather - FSChung -SSMcGowan - benchMcGowan is not good enough to supllant either of these guys. he is a career back up.

what the what??

I didn't even know he was a fa.

chung should eventually start at ss, provided he pans out, but I don't know about early season.

we've got sanders and tank williams, too, so add in mcgowan and bear in mind they play a lot of nickel and belichick likes that big nickel.

If Tank Williams makes it through camp uninjured I will be suprised.

Not sure who will start here. Too early to tell.

Of course you would think that they want Chung to start if he is ready.

Everything I'm hearing suggests Meriweather, Sanders, and Chung in a 3 man rotation at the two safety spots.

Tank Williams has actually been practicing with the linebackers.

I think McGowan will be a non-factor, barring at least 1 or 2 injuries.

The guy looked real good today. Brought back memories of what could have been in Chicago. The guy is a player...

He played every defensive snap this weekend, after being in for 65 of 70 snaps the previous week. He's really stepped up.

I keep hearing about the weather in NE this week. What affect would poor weather, if any, have on McGowan's production? Never really thought about IDP impact of weather...

Maybe a few missed tackles would be only negative impact i could see. The other team being forced to run the ball more due to poor weather conditions should increase the tackle oppurtunities hence a positive impact. So all in all I say nothing changes.

Anybody know what he finished with today? NFL.Com & CBS' GameTracker both have him @ 6/1 & 1 FF

but MFL has him @ 8/1 & 1 FF....Didn't know if anybody knew which was correct?

Either way another nice game for him today.....

he plays on kickoff coverage(and is damn good) as well so thats why he appears to have extra tackles. he seemed to be everywhere today. the patriots sure have a crew of safeties that can sure lay the lumber
