A few days ago a guy posted a thread saying he was listening to the radio and he heard a rumor about mcnabb being traded and it was on the preston and steve show in philly. He said take it for what its worth and so on....Alot of guys got onto him about it so I thought I post the info. He was telling the truth about the rumor even though its completely a far-fetched. The thread got locked....

Once again the reason im posting this link above is there is some truth from what the poster was saying and I just wanted to back him up by posting the audio.

Clearly this wasn't the case and was just rumors but you never know as the draft approaches closer. To me the guy telling the story in the audio dosn't seem trust-worthy but thats just me!

That would make no sense if true. Why would the Dolphins trade for an aging/beat up QB when they already have that on their roster? I consider McNabb an aging vet at whatever age he is now, 31 or so I think. Besides I think that's asking a lot for McNabb.

If healthy, McNabb has 4-5 productive years left. That would give them plenty of time to groom his replacement. I don't think it is a terrible move by Miami. Parcells is going to do whatever he can to turn this organization around and prove that he was the right choice for the job.

Bledsoe/Romo=McNabb/Beck?
 thats Parcells' mantra. experience trumps strong-armed youths..Parcells was talking about Beck on ESPN (before going to Miami), he was saying that starting a guy like Beck on a lousy team that had (so far to this point) gone winless, was a colossal mistake, and that you can easily damage the QB's confidence and so on..and it also puts you as a HC in a spot where you've got to stick with him once you put him in, because if you bench him,its sending the wrong message to the team, and to the young QB that you've lost faith in him already, etc..it also leaves him open to injury behind such a shaky line..there was NO GOOD that was going to come out of starting Beck, and you might wind up with another Ryan Leaf-type of head case on your hands..

I understand the comparison but you couldn't be more wrong. 1) I don't think McNabb is going to Miami

2) Listen to the clip yesterday on the nfl network with new Miami GM Jeff Ireland:

Becks name gets mentioned by the network but never by Ireland.

also per rotoworld:

Dolphins are eyeing quarterbacks intently and appear unhappy with there situation with Cleo Lemon and John Beck. Dolphins QB Coach David Lee had a long interview with Delaware QB Joe Flacco. Flacco measured in at 6'6 1/4" and 232 pounds.

Wow, I can't believe how down people are on McNabb. He'd be an upgrade on more than half the teams in the NFL.

I never thought I'd say this but . . .

Thank God Miami is bringing Trent Green back next year.

PLEASE stop giving up draft picks for coming off injury soon to be washed up QB's.

Culpepper

Feeley

Green

How about your draft picks for Derek Anderson!

Trent Green's career is probably over. but it still makes no sense.

Being a Patriots fan for 30+ years, I was around when Parcells came to New England and helped turn the organization around.

That being said, I think you can guarantee 4 things:

1. He will not pick a QB at #1. Yes, he took Bledsoe, but there is no Peyton Manning-level QB coming out this year.

2. He won't trade the 1.01 pick for a young QB unless he's getting a ton more than that QB.

3. He's going DL with the 1.01 pick, unless he trades down.

4. He won't trade out of the 1st round this year.

If McNabb could stay healthy for longer than 10 minutes at a time, he would be a hot commodity but he cant so he isnt.

The Eagles couldnt get more than a 2nd or 3rd rounder for McNabb at best. No way they would trade him for that. No way a team would give up more than that.

:goodposting:if you haven't already, please post this in that absolutely inane (sic) rumor about Anderson for the 'phins #1 overall.

If McNabb could stay healthy for longer than 10 minutes at a time, he would be a hot commodity as closely knit with the Eagles as Manning/Colts and Brady/Pats but he cant so he isnt trade rumors abound.

:corrected:And if it would only cost a 2nd or 3rd, I think the 'phins would be willing to trade their 2nd for him.

And there's some nice DL coming out in the draft this year. Perfect timing.

The Eagles are NOT trading Donovan McNabb. Not to the Bears, not to Lions, not to the Vikings, not to the Chiefs, not to the Ravens, and not to the Dolphins. They are NOT trading him period.

Completely agree. They're not trading him b/c they would want way more than any other team would be willing to give up to get them to think twice about it. It's fun to think about, but this is a dead end discussion. It's just not happening.

No. They're not trading him because they think they can contend next year if they fill a few holes, and of the QBs they have, McNabb is the only one that gives them a chance to win now.

Does this not qualify as the same thing? If you think they'd say no to two 1st round picks, you're kidding yourself. It's just that nobody would pay that. So it's not as though they wouldn't move him, just that they'd ask too much, so it's a moot point.
