Mendenhall out for the playoffs (1 Viewer)

sucks for him but doubt this effects the Steelers much. Theyre a passing team and Redman is pretty solid. Is Moore also hurt?

Steelers coach Mike Tomlin revealed Sunday night that Rashard Mendenhall is unlikely to play in the Wild Card round at Denver.

The team fears he has a torn ACL. Mendenhall will undergo an MRI tonight or tomorrow, and his injury's extent will be learned when results come back. Isaac Redman will likely close out the postseason as the team's feature back. Jonathan Dwyer is on injured reserve. Pittsburgh will be the AFC's No. 5 seed after Baltimore beat Cincinnati on Sunday. The Steelers are set to face the slow-finishing Broncos in Week 18.

Hurts the depth at RB, but Redman has run harder all year. Not much big-play ability, but he gets tough yards, and he gets every yard that's there and normally a few more. Mendenhall has been dancing too much this year, but it still sucks to see him go down. Hopefully it's just a hyperextension or something.

This team is only going to go as far as Ben's arm and the defense will take them. Beating the Broncos shouldn't be a tall order, and if that leads to a matchup against the Patriots, Ben should be able to shred that secondary like everyone else has. I like the Steelers' chances of slowing down Brady far more than the Patriots' chances of slowing down Ben.

It's not like I'd expect the Steelers to go into Baltimore and beat them with the running game, either. If we see that one again, it'll be a tough matchup with or without Mendenhall.

Maybe this isn't the place for this, but it can only be "good" news for Baron Batch, right? He was making some noise in training camp, but has been on IR all year. He'll get his shot in camp this coming summer.
