How can you go through an entire football season with a torn PCL and LCL in the same knee?

Seems like he is just asking for a more serious injury like an MCL or ACL tear to occur. How productive can you be in the NFL with your knee at less than 100% ?

This just seems like the dumbest football move I've ever seen. He is going to risk his career and possible ability to walk long-term so he can play in 2008?

Seems like suicide to me. Just crazy. Am I over-reacting?

Maybe one of our Shark Pool medical professional participants can fill us in on some on this.

I agree. He's going to cost himself a ton of money in the long run. Mark Schelerth (sp) had a perfect, on the money, rant about this topic a few days ago on ESPN. SD would cut him without blinking if it came down to it.

Hey, it's his life and his body and his career. He can do whatever he wants...

HOWEVER, I agree with the majority out there that feels that this is just flat dumb. You have not one, not two, not even three, but FOUR doctors ALL saying that he should have the full-on reconstructive surgery. And you're not going to heed this?! I know it's hard to sit around for a year and let it heal and do rehab and all, but you have to look long term, buddy. You know full well that you will eventually have to do the surgery, whether it's this year, or next, or a few years down the line. So you will miss time, period. Why not shut it down NOW and be ready 100% next year and not have to worry about it later? He really is a ticking time bomb now. One bad cut or hit to the knee and he's done, and will really wish he had shut it down...
